Functional overnight stay only if you need to be in Calais next day
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Strong WiFi at pitch, clean facilities. Good for functional overnight stay only as 35 mins to LeShuttle.
Disliked Mostly this is a static caravan site, a few small pitches for tents and campervans . The snack bar wasn't available/closed/no one at the bar when we wanted food at 7pm so had to drive to local town for food 15mins away but they had nothing much open and the pizza was over an hour to wait (it was very good though when we finally got it - Le Pele) Us leaving the site and returning at 10pm angered the site owner who came to tell us so (even though the pitch next to us drove back to their close pitch next to us at gone 11pm in a big diesel car!) Advice would be to ensure that you have food to cook/eat before arriving here to avoid a long trip to the nearest shop/restaurant in case the snack bar isn't open.

From the manager: Dear Mr Hudson,
We are indeed a small, quiet campsite with a number of mobile homes as well as touring and camping pitches. Our bar/snack bar was open until 8pm.
Your final return to the campsite was after 10pm, which is the time after which vehicles are no longer allowed to circulate around the campsite. The nearest town is actually our own village, with the centre only 1.5 km away. There are two pizza vending machines, two restaurants, several bars, a supermarket, a pharmacy, etc.
You chose to go to Ardres (La Pelle à Pizza). There were therefore much closer options available, although we agree that it is a very good place!
Our campsite is known and appreciated for being quiet, so when necessary, I politely remind guests of the rules. The same applied to your neighbour, whom we asked to leave the following morning.
P.S. We drive an electric car ourselves, but we do not judge people who drive diesel cars, nor those travelling in an old van or campervan. Everyone is free to drive what they can afford or prefer, as long as the campsite rules are respected.
We wish you a lovely holiday and hope you find other campsites that are better suited to what you are looking for.

Electric optional grass pitch
Liked quiet site big pitches, immaculate showers and toilets. Lovely little bar area and the surrounding area is great for walking the dog. The owners of the campsite were very welcoming. It was a great stop before heading for the shuttle home. Would highly recommend.

Peaceful remote stay
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Peaceful. Friendly staff and an amazing on site hot food stall
Disliked Very difficult to find a flat pitch

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We always do our best, and reviews like yours encourage us to keep improving.
Most of our pitches are flat. The earlier you book, the more choice we have to offer you the pitch that best suits your needs. We do have a few small holes to fill during the off-season, but there are no significant slopes on our pitches.
We wish you a lovely day!

Liked Petit camping familial, au calme, accueil tres sympathique du couple ayant repris le camping il y a 2 ans. Bar avec fléchettes pour amuser les grands. Ok côté eau et électricité. Quelques améliorations en perspective.

Perfect for Le Shuttle, only 30 minutes away and it was very peaceful
Electric grass pitch
Liked The site and hosts were fiery accommodate and responsive with communication and especially when our journey to the site didn’t go as planned and we were running late.
The site is pretty and rural, with a good hard standing sized pitch. Was only there for the night and didn’t get set up so unable to comment on other aspects of the site.
Disliked Toilet block didn’t have soap dispensers and the lights are on a short timer for the whole toilet/shower block and this resulted in me being in the shower and the lights going off with no way of turning back on…resulting in me being in there in the dark!!! Only way to turn back on to go out of the shower and find a switch!!

From the manager: Hello, thank you for your feedback. We always do our best to help our guests and provide the best possible facilities and service.
We do not provide soap because, unfortunately, it tends to get taken. Managing the toilet paper is already quite a challenge! We are a small 2-star campsite and try to keep our prices very reasonable.
I will look into adjusting the light timer or finding another solution so that the lights do not go out while guests are using the showers.
We hope to welcome you again in the future.
Have a lovely day!

Electric grass pitch
Liked Personal was nice, and a very good free wifi.
Disliked Electricity was far away and poor manufactored. The ground of the pit was very poor. There were only three toilets and two showers, mixed man/female. Toilets were half broken and one door could not be locked.

From the manager: Hello, even though we always try to be friendly and welcoming, unfortunately we cannot satisfy everyone.
Our electrical installations are in good condition and, of course, are inspected every year by an approved organisation. We have 5 toilets, all with working locks, and 3 showers for 21 touring pitches. Next year, we will have 5 showers.
Pitch 7 is in good condition considering the current weather conditions: very high temperatures, drought and, of course, watering restrictions, especially as we are located in a protected natural park.
We fully accept that the grass may be dry or sparse at this time of year due to these conditions.
Have a lovely day.
