Wake up and walk the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path, or perhaps challenge yourself to a local hill summit. Based on the northwest coast of Anglesey, you’ll have lots of choice over how to spend your time from Llain Ffynnon Camping. A morning brew over the site's sea views? Taking the 15-minute walk down the closest beach for a quick dip in the sea? Or perhaps you’d rather go for a dog walk towards the mountains (after all, dogs are welcome here too). You’ll need a good pair of shoes, that’s for sure. One of the big perks of this site is that it’s easy to get to many places on foot. The local pub in Church Bay is only half an hour’s walk away. It’s also on the way to the rockpools at Porth Swtan beach (40 minutes’ walk) or the seafood restaurant and café close to the shore. You’ll get an idea of the splendid walks around these parts just from glancing at the views from this site. Based quite high up, Llain Ffynnon Camping doesn’t just have views over the northwest coast – you'll catch Snowdonia's mountains, Ireland, the Isle of Man and the northwest of England on a clear day too. The site is only a short walk from access points to several well-maintained public footpaths, including one with access to the Mynydd y Garn summit. If you need to pack some snacks and sandwiches before you go, there are two local food shops in Llanfaethlu or Tregele, 10 minutes’ drive from the site. Once you're back at base, make use of the hot shower and toilet facilities available to freshen up again.

Liked My 2nd visit to this site.
They added extra toilets and extra showers since my last stay in 2023.
Very friendly owners. Beautiful views. Great prices. Good location. Will return again. Huge site with plenty of room for pitch. Dog friendly. Solo female traveller. Felt safe. If no availability on pitch up. Ring/text the number (added in pictures) as there will be room, as they have many acres.

Liked Where to start. Only £15 in mid July for our campervan with 2 adults and our dog. Welcomed on the road to the site by the owners who said they will come back to collect payment later. Loads of room, park where you like. Fantastic 180 degree views of the ocean. No official arrival or departure times. Owners came to keep toilets and showers in tip top condition throughout the day, chatting to campers, answering queries in a friendly and helpful way. Finally took our payment around 8pm and told us we could pack up and leave anytime we wanted. We will definitely be back. Thank you

Liked The campsite is big with a stunning sea view . We absolutely loved it. The owners are great , really caring and the facilities are always clean. Also you cannot beat that price ! We had absolutely great stay, I would highly recommend 😍

Disliked Only one shower with hot water available and water pressure is usually poor .

Local attractions

You might first spot the Goleudŷ Ynysoedd y Moelrhoniaid (The Skerries Lighthouse) from the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path. Up close, after a chartered boat ride from Holyhead (25 minutes’ drive), the view is even better, and the birdwatching just as splendid. The seabird colony at Cemlyn North Wales Wildlife Trust Reserve (10 minutes’ drive) is pretty spectacular to watch too. A shingle ridge, lagoon and plants such as sea kale and sea campion are part of the highlight reel at this place – just the thing if you're a fan of spying on wildlife. Those of you who are planning on spending a lot of your downtime beside the sea will be happy to find that there are a number of beaches that are easy to get to from Llain Ffynnon Camping. In fact, the National Trust’s Traeth Ynys y Fydlyn is half an hour’s walk away, and there are caves and rockpools to rummage around down there. Further out, other gorgeous beach locations include Cemlyn Bay (15 minutes’ drive), Porth Trwyn (10 minutes) and Traeth Porth Wen Beach (15 minutes).
