  • Central Dorset touring park with easy access from the A350
  • Poole, Sandbanks and Jurassic Coast within a half-hour drive
  • Spacious pitches with access to lakeside walks for wildlife spotting
Picking a pitch in central Dorset is a wise choice for a holiday, as it gives you easy access to all sorts of days out, whether you’re aiming for country walks, adventure activities, family days out or trips to the gorgeous coves of the Jurassic Coast. One such spot is Dorset Springs, a gorgeous location among paddocks, meadows and lakes on the outskirts of Sturminster Marshall. With easy access from the A350 and various amenities (including a convenience store, pub and farm shop/café) within a few minutes’ walk, it’s a handy location indeed for family holidays or stopovers on a longer journey (such as those down to the ferries in Poole, 15 minutes’ drive away). This isn’t just a handily located site, though – it’s also a most attractive one, surrounded by fields grazed by sheep and with access to lakeside walks where you can look out for wildlife (please note that children will need to be supervised around the unfenced lakes, and fishing is not permitted). Pitches are spacious enough for you to set them up just how you like, and you’re welcome to bring your dog along for the trip too (as long as they’re kept under control). The site is designed mainly for touring vehicles that are fairly self contained, but it does have some simple facilities including a toilet, a shower, a washing-up area and a water tap, along with a chemical disposal point. There’s also a play area to help you keep the kids entertained.

Electric grass touring caravan pitch

Liked: We only stayed one night as we live locally but we will 100% stay again.
Quiet and peaceful. The lake is lovely. Nice play frame for the children to play on.
The pitches aren't too close together.
We went out for dinner at the red lion and the food was very good and reasonably priced.
Local shop is in walking distance.
I think there is fire pits and wood to use but we only stayed one night so we didn't use this but next time we go it would be lovely to use this if available
It felt very secure with the security gates at the main entrance.

Disliked: The toilet is in desperate need of renovating and possibly another toilet is needed? If people are only doing one or two nights away you don't always want to set up your chemical waste.
You need a torch to go to the toilet, It can feel abit spooky if you are alone using the toilet, as its tucked around the back of a barn.
It wasn't a problem for us but there is a couple of chickens running around, and the pen is left open.

Electric grass touring caravan pitch

Liked: Beautiful site, well looked after, friendly owners! Play equipment for kids! Lovely lakes! Good sized pitches.

Disliked: Bit of a walk to dispose of rubbish.
Leaving with a twin axle caravan can be tricky as double gates are just about wide enough and goes out onto a main road!!

Electric grass touring caravan pitch

Liked: Quite location, nice walks around the lakes. Big area for socialising.

Disliked: You couldn't fish the lake, seeing as it was a Caravan Club site, they wanted £5 for a shower if you weren't a member
