What customers say

Quiet, friendly, small farm campsite. Beautiful views, great for walks/cycles. Helpful owners. Basic (no loos/showers) but good value. Sloping pitches - bring blocks. Near pub & Tissington Trail/Dovedale.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely quiet site run by a lovely couple, local produce available to purchase, only a short cycle ride away from getting on the Tissington Trail, also some lovely walks in the area,

Disliked No dislikes but you will require levelling ramps for this site,

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely location with wonderful walks all around. The owner is very helpful , allowed us to turn up and leave and times of our choice, also given lots of information about the surrounding area on paper.
Leads supped if your hook up isn’t long enough.

Disliked The road that this farm is on is the road between Ashbourne and Buxton and as such the traffic can be noisy and cars go very fast. We stayed near the road so maybe a higher pitch would be better.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Unfortunately the road has been busier than normal this summer due to the 'Ashbourne Reborn' project causing traffic issues in Ashbourne and people using the country roads to avoid it. Should revert back to normal soon!

Liked Nice site which wasn’t overcrowded to say it was school holidays. We brought our bikes and Ashbourne was a nice ride down the Tissington trail. Very central to most places . And a pub nearby.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Fabulous little place, Steph and Matt were really welcoming and gave us lots of information regarding the local area. We had one of the hardstanding pitches (take your pick when you arrive) which didnt take much levelling, the pitches on the slopes looked a bit trickier but didnt seem to deter even the biggest of caravans. Nice and peaceful with beautiful scenery - yes there's road noise to a certain extent but who doesnt love the rumble of a tractor now and then. We had a wander to the local pub which they told us served meat reared on the farm, we didnt eat but the meals looked lovely (I was quite envious!) We also took the longer route round along the trail into Tissington but there was a footpath acoss the field directly outside the site. We will be back for sure - maybe in winter to attend a concert at the the nearby 'Pipes in the Peaks' - google it!

Disliked Whats not to like.

Local attractions

Ashbourne (10 minutes’ drive) is more than just a handy place for shops – it’s also a lovely place for a wander, with heritage buildings, cobbled streets and a Thursday market. It’s also the starting point for the 13-mile Tissington Trail, a traffic-free route for walkers and cyclists; bikes can be hired locally. Delving further into the Peak District National Park might take you to places like Dovedale (five minutes), Thor’s Cave (15 minutes) and Arbor Low Stone Circle and Gib Hill Barrow (15 minutes) or to popular towns like Buxton and Bakewell (both 25 minutes). Haddon Hall (25 minutes) and Chatsworth House (half an hour) both make excellent outings if you like to explore grand historic buildings. Just outside the national park’s boundaries, the cable car at Heights of Abraham (half an hour) is a great way to see some of the scenery from above. If that’s not quite enough of a thrill, try a day on the rollercoasters of Alton Towers (25 minutes) – or the rides of Gulliver’s Kingdom (25 minutes) if you’ve got smaller kids.
