Liked: The owner seem very nice and helpful we arrived at nearly 6pm. Left at 8am the next day. So didn’t get a chance to check it all out.
Disliked: You had to pay extra for hot water

Liked: We actually used our bell tent !! Site Managers Phil and Mandy are amazing!! Friendly and helpful through our our visit, nothing is to much trouble, such a lovely and friendly site, with lovely fishing which pleased my husband !!! We will definitely be back !!! The Wi-Fi is practically non existent, which was lovely !!!
Disliked: The noisy camper behind us !! But Phil nipped that in the bud at 2am !! And we never heard a peep out of them and they even apologised. Everyone is friendly.

Liked: A two-night stay for hiking, fishing, and family time that was just about perfect.
Phil and Mandy were extremely welcoming and a reassuring presence around the site. The facilities were clean and well kept, the shop is well stocked, as are the fishing lakes.
Nearby towns are accessible on foot (if you don't mind the nettles), or there's a local bus service that will drop you right outside the camp-site.
We were on a tent pitch and the space afforded by the designated area was more than enough for two-people or a family-sized party.

Liked: Everything. Really well run site, welcoming, very friendly, fishing is a major draw and you won’t be disappointed with the well stocked lakes. My husband had a phone signal, I didn’t which was actually nice to get away from work emails.
We will definitely return. Thank you!Disliked: Nothing to dislike, but maybe if there was a local food van that popped in one evening a week would be the icing on the cake. We noticed a Thai food van in Cerne Abbas but was to late to order anything from them.

It would be nice to have a food van come on site we have tried a couple with no luck but we will keep on trying, and one day we may just be lucky.

Liked: Small very peaceful site , owners really friendly & helpful. Well run , clean . Pitches over looking lakes .
Disliked: Have to pay for use of water , showers & washing up. Only 20p but not fun when you get in the shower & forgot you have to put 20p for water .. no phone reception have to pay for WiFi.
Thank you for your comments. Everyone is made aware there is no WIFI site and phone reception is really poor. If you paid for WIFI you were advised not to by email as it is very hit and miss.
You knew when you booked about the 20p/50p for hot water when you booked as it tells you on Pitch Up.

We are sorry you did not get chance to check out the site, you had such a short stay.
Unfortunately there is a charge for hot water but everyone is made aware of the charges when they book by email along with the site info.
Pity you say you would not visit again, you could have the chance to experience Lyons Gate fully and see some of the beautiful countryside around here.
