  • Family-friendly four-acre site with Warwickshire countryside views
  • A 10-minute drive from Warwick Castle and 25 from Stratford-upon-Avon
  • Easy access from the M40; pub 10 minutes' walk away
Wildlife, walks and Warwick just a few miles away – if that little collection of things sounds appealing, best be wending your way to Warwickshire’s Mousley House Farm Campsite. Scan the horizon at this family-friendly farm site and it’s all hills and farmland, with the occasional four-legged neighbour popping their head over the fence to say hello. Should you be seeking a bit of leg-stretching, head straight out from the site onto many a mile of peaceful countryside footpath – with a bit of clever planning you can (sensibly) plan a route that diverts via one of the local restaurants or pubs, the nearest of which is a gentle 10-minute amble away. Be not fooled by your immensely rural surrounds though – Mousley House Farm Campsite is a cinch to get in and out of, with easy access to the M40 and other main roads, plus all sorts of urban amenities a short drive away in Warwick (five miles) and Stratford-upon-Avon (12 miles).

Liked: Location was brilliant, and the big open field in the middle was great for kids to play. We had a large pitch which was very large and well spaced out. The Wardens were very friendly and happy to help. The female warden was also very strict about leads when one camper let there dog loose on the field, we were very pleased with this as our young children become anxtious around dogs and not everybody likes them.

Disliked: It was quite expensive especially when they cancelled the bar and pizza van which was one of the reasons we booked here. The toilet and shower blocks could do with cleaning. I dont think they were cleaned while we were there for 5days. There was also a lot of wasps but i suppose that is just nature.

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked: I stayed here as an overnkght stop with my teenager daughter in a campervan as we were visiting Warwick Castle. The site is well organised, clean and not overcrowded. After reading the reviews I was prepared for the list of rules but the warden was friendly, helpful and ultimately the "quiet site" status led to a really good night's sleep and a peaceful relaxing stopover. Lovely quiet location.

Disliked: Amenities are basic but clean.

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked: We've been coming here for years but appreciated the addition of the horsebox bar with locally brewed ale and Sunday morning butties. Lovely friendly site close to Warwick Castle, clean and well managed.

Disliked: Outdoor showers seemed to only run for 5 secs before shutting off! Could do with extending this as they are great! Build more!

Local attractions

If you only visit one attraction around here, it really should be the fab Warwick Castle, 10 minutes away. Guided visits will tell all sorts of tales as you tour the castle and gardens, or you could create your own as you explore the dungeons, princess tower and other corners of the estate. The Horrible Histories maze is perenially popular with the small sorts, as are the frequent jousting and bird of prey displays. If that’s inspired you to take in even more elegant architecture, Baddesley Clinton and Packwood House National Trust properties are both within a 10-minute drive. The half-timbered houses and Shakespeare-themed tours of Stratford-upon-Avon are 25 minutes away by car. Tiddlers not so enthused by pointing at pretty buildings? Take them off to see the narrowboats at Hatton Locks or play games, pick fruit and watch speedy sheep racing at Hatton Adventure World (both 10 minutes’ drive). The lipsmacking chocolate-themed attractions of Cadbury World are just over half an hour away if they’ve earned some sweet treats.
