Liked •Easy self check-in with security gate code provided by email. • Quiet, peaceful site with plenty of wildlife. • Toilets and showers were clean. • Local info, books, DVDs, and games available in the washing-up area. • Friendly owner came round to check everything was okay. • lovely Woodland walk nearby. • Fishing pond still usable (owner has plans to improve).

Disliked More observations than dislikes • If pitched at number 38, you’ll need a very long extension cable (over 35m) for the electric. • Toilets/showers could be improved with clear occupied signs to avoid confusion. • Ponds are quite overgrown at the moment, though still usable and the owner has plans to improve. The location is quite remote, which wasn’t ideal for us without our own transport in a motorhome. Taxis were costly, Uber unreliable, and walking to nearby village/town sketchy on main unlit road.

Disliked • Chaotic check-in, overbooked and disorganised. • No allocated pitches – dumped on a patch of grass with an extension cable running across several pitches for electric hookup. • Very run-down facilities; toilet blocks need a complete overhaul (though they were being cleaned). • Refuse area overflowing and neglected. • Kids running amok on electric bikes. • Poor phone reception made it difficult to leave sooner. We booked for the weekend but left after one night. Sadly, not a site I would recommend which is a shame cause the area looked lovely to explore.

Liked Brilliant Campsite – Clean, Peaceful, and Super Friendly We had a fantastic stay at this lovely little campsite. Everything was really well organised from the start. We got an email before arrival with all the important info like check-in and check-out times, our pitch number, and even the WiFi password. Speaking of which, the WiFi was great – strong enough to stream a film one evening with no problems at all. Our pitch had electric hookup and its own water supply, which made things really easy. The whole site is very clean and well looked after, with tidy grounds and nicely spaced-out pitches. It’s a peaceful spot with a relaxed feel, and the owner popped by while we were setting up just to check everything was OK – a really nice touch that made us feel welcome. One of the best parts was the brand-new toilet and shower block. It was spotless during our whole stay. There are two large individual toilets and three family-sized shower rooms, each with a toilet, changing bench, sink, mirror and hairdryer. The showers had good water pressure and plenty of space – perfect if you’ve got kids or just prefer a bit more room. There’s also a washing-up area, dog-washing station, and easy access to dispose of waste and grey water, including a drive-over grey water point for motorhomes. Everything was clearly signposted and easy to use. The location is lovely and quiet, but close enough to explore the local area. There’s a short walk across a field to the Bridge Inn pub (although it wasn’t open the day we were there), or you can take a scenic riverside walk into Pateley Bridge, which is about 1.5 miles away. It’s a great little village with a butcher, fish & chip shop, takeaway, tea rooms, local shops and even a play park for the kids. All in all, we loved our stay. The site is peaceful, spotless and well-equipped, with a friendly vibe and everything you need for a comfortable break. Would definitely come back – highly recommend!
