Freedom unpowered grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Very well organised self-serve camp site with basic facilities (portaloos and showers in a cabin) and large pitch size. Welcome pack with fire wood was a nice touch and fridge with eggs, bacon, burgers available to buy. I was in the Freedom area, it was good to have large spacing between pitches. A short distance away was a lovely area for communal BBQ with hammocks next to the river. Peaceful with beautiful wildlife to watch
Disliked The shower water was cold

From the manager: Thank you for your review. Sorry the shower water was cold; we had an engineer out on Friday to fix all the showers so I think you may have just been unlucky with the cold one. Look forward to welcoming you again to our beautiful farm and hopefully meeting you in person. Have a safe summer. Best wishes, D'Oyleys Farm Camping

Unpowered grass and earth caravan site
Liked Location is great for me visiting family in Reading, arrived to a wagging welcome from Digger the dog who regularly does the rounds and checks in on all campers! Was very quiet first 2 nights with more campers arriving at the weekend. So wonderful to wake up to a beautiful sunrise with deer in the field! Lovely local woodland walks, great little cafe and shop and Kevin was very helpful. Was able to buy wood for fire pit. Toilet facilities are basic, no showers but I knew that and was fine. Just what I needed after a busy few days in the city centre.
Disliked Planes overhead but you can’t help that! Managed to get parked fairly level but might need chocks for hardstanding area.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely, positive review. Digger the dog certainly keeps a watchful eye on our guests (and their snacks) The big commercial aircraft can sometimes be a bit irritating, but we also get quite a few interesting heritage planes flying overhead from time to time - worth looking out for! As soon as the ground dries out, it should be possible to drive camper vans and caravans onto the field. We know that campers prefer this, but we try to accommodate guests even in challenging conditions. We can always help with levelling vehicles if need be, but bringing chocks is very good advice. We really look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Liked Very accommodating for me as a late arrival, had a great pitch overlooking the lake. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Fantastic Halloween paddle/swim event followed by a hot drink and delicious pizza then a lovely sauna, jacuzzi and swim the next morning. Highly recommended!
