Unpowered grass tent site (two person)
Liked Accessible spot, quiet site with clear rules around no late night noise. We travelled with 1 car and 2 small tents and our pitch was an adequate size and nice and flat, with a picnic table. Nice to see and hear the robins and thrushes etc. Some lovely views from up near the cabins with hit tubs. (THEY looked wonderful!) The shower block was heated and kept very clean. Handy little dishwashing station at the end of the block had washing up liquid and essentials, which was much appreciated. Very cheap, and handy for us, as we were doing the big swim at Loch Tay and just needed to crash out. Mostly set to static caravans all lined up 'very' close to each other. There were plenty of visitors with small dogs kept on lead (it wouldn't have suited us if I'd had to bring my large dogs with me). So, a very compact small site, with only a couple of tent pitches. But perfect as a base for a couple of nights exploring. 2 min drive to local motel/bar/restaurant Mhor, had a fantastic meal there. There's a cafe directly opposite the site, too, though we didn't get the chance to try it. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again if passing through.
Disliked Didn't get the code for the barrier beforehand, so had to ask a friendly family otherwise we'd have been stuck. And there's no avoiding the fact it's literally on the road, so there's noticeable traffic noise.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Absolutely great little site, perfect for a first 'semi-wild' camp. Football field with minimal pitches (I think maybe 8 in total), well-spaced out so no immediate neighbours. Overlooking field of sheep, with gorgeous walks on the doorstep up along the river Breamish. Very basic amenities = 2 spotless portaloos, couple of bins and a tap. Friendly welcome from considerate owners. Can't fault this spot if you like peace and quiet and aren't looking for an all-mod-cons and entertainment on-tap. No noise after about 8pm. Bonus incredible views of stars and almost full moon made for a perfect stay. Also dog friendly - the field itself is great for them to run around freely as the pitches are all around the outside, but note that there is livestock around so they need to be on-lead for parts of the nearby walks.
