Liked Spacious pitches and designed with privacy in mind. Lovely hot showers and very clean facilities. Very helpful owner when there was a problem with reverse polarity on the EHU.

Disliked Bit noisy (early morning mower on adjacent golf course) but not excessive. No WiFi . Had to drive to Pool Bridge swimming up the road as no safe footpath to walk there but that's not down to the campsite.

Liked Great location for somewhere to stay whilst visiting London for the weekend. Great public transport links to get into central London. Would definitely use this site again. Good level hardstanding pitches & EHU.

Disliked Noisy campers on site, but that was only one night.

Liked Exactly as described, a basic site with just a portaloo and amazing views. We walked down to HB (about half a mile, all downhill), had planned to walk back too but it is a v steep hill so we got a taxi back instead (£10).

Disliked Possibly a bit overpriced at £20 a night given the very basic amenities. Also the promised bottled water didn't arrive but we had gone prepared with a full water container so it wasn't a problem.

Liked Small site, friendly owner, spacious, level pitches, dog friendly, great walking straight off the site, 25 mins walk to Ravenglass village for pubs, inclusive vfm price (no added extras for dog or electricity).

Disliked No washing up area for pots and pans, views spoiled by pylon but appreciate little the owner can do about that!

Liked Fabulous views, laid back vibe, very friendly owners, being able to have a bbq/fire, spacious pitch, privacy.

Disliked Lack of dog walking in the area (we hoped to walk part of Beara Way but sadly dogs not allowed)

There are some lovely walks for dogs up at Glenmore lake and into the Pocket and other places as well in the neighbourhood. Information available in reception. Liked One positive which I definitely want to highlight is the staff who were very friendly and helpful.

Disliked Stayed in one of the camping pods which have definitely seen better days and need a good deep clean. Cobwebs everywhere, dirty curtains and the floor needed a damn good mop! This is a lovely part of Norfolk and good walks straight out the site but very loud road noise and disappointing standards in the pods for £50 a night. Also, the toilet block nearest to pods was all locked up except for one bathroom marked 'male' for first couple of days, when a second one was opened it had no heating. The other toilet block was fully open with heating so don't know why those of us at pod end couldn't have the same service. One positive which I definitely want to highlight is the staff who were very friendly and helpful.

From the manager: Thank you for your comments and we will definitely be taking them on board. We have inspected the pods this morning after the cleaners have cleaned them to check the standard of cleaning and can confirm we did find one curtain with a hand print on it however, on this mornings inspection the floors were immaculate and no cobwebs were found. With regards to the bathroom, when only one pod is in use we only open one bathroom down that end of the site as this is effectively your own private bathroom as the other end of the site naturally use the other service bathrooms. We take on board changing the sign on the bathroom to multi-sex is a valid suggestion and we will be actioning this today. We do hope to see you again soon to visit Norfolk.

Liked Very friendly, helpful staff; location close to Hawsker village (5 mins walk) and fab Hare & Hounds pub (dog friendly, great food & beer); ease of access to the Cinder track (10mins walk) and coastal path (15 mins walk). Good size hard standing pictures with beautiful bird song from the hedgerows. 5 mins to bus stop for routes to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Scarborough.

Disliked The curse of campsite showers - having to push the button for water every 5 seconds. Water nice and hot but shower room cold. Litter on site, e.g hedgerows. I picked up litter near my pitch but there was plenty to go at

Disliked Noisy campers, the youths in the tent that was pitched next to us were off their heads until 3am which meant pretty much no sleep!
