Liked Really enjoyed our stay at Parkgate Farm. Bruce and Sandy were brilliant at answering any questions, and even stepping in to fix a camping table for us. They keep the site beautifully maintained, and tucked in the heart of the Cumbrian lowlands, local to both mountains and coast it was a great location! The facilities were clean, and there was a small room with laundry and freezer to use with small purchaseable items. Every plot had its own washing line and picnic bench up, and electric hook up and water tap were right next to the plot. There were walks accessible directly from the campsite in the forest and up the nearest hill at Irton Pike. There was no road traffic noise and we only saw the occasional military airplane.

Liked Lovely location, nice layout of pitches. Great facilities. Really well cleaned and maintained toilets/ showers. Groundsmen there daily, tidying and making the gardens look fantastic. Lots to do on site, friendly staff. Great restaurant! Would definitely go back.

Liked Gorgeous campsite with amazing views, lovely clean facilities and friendly owners.
Lake for wild swimming with sauna alongside it! Hill next to the site provided endless entertainment for the kids, as it was covered in soft moss and rolling down it was an evening must! Nice local walks.
Disliked Hill into the campsite was a bit steep, but once I discovered my car could manage it I got a bit more confident with it. Might be tricky for smaller city cars in the winter.

Liked Lovely location within few minutes walk of the Oxford canal and picturesque village. Goats and parrots a real win and a fab play area with bouncy castle which my youngest used whenever possible! Ground was flat and we could choose our pitch. Showers were lovely and hot and clean.
Disliked Toilets were not regularly attended to refresh soap/clean.

Liked Lovely views, looking north to the Yorkshire moors. Lovely play area on site, really well maintained site in general. Facilities were very nice, modern and clean. Owners were reachable via a doorbell on the toilet block, responded to any needs quickly.
We enjoed climbing to the local Darwen Tower for amazing views over the Yorkshire Moors and as far as Wales/North Sea, we could even see Blackpool Tower on the horizon!
Disliked There was a low drum noise from the nearby motorway, but honestly did not disturb us much, and meant that going out for the day was easy with good local access routes to the seaside to the east, and the moors to the north.
