Liked Lovely welcome nice friendly people, nice setting right in the heart of the olive grove and processing plant. Saw the harvest gathered and being processed.
Nice setting for evening meal food was good, service was excellent.
Disliked Bathrooms broken shower and full toilet bins but everything you needed for all other services.
Lots of local dogs barking much of the night not the sites fault but made for interesting sleeping.

From the manager: Dear Maggie, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a careful and detailed review of your stay. We sincerely appreciate your kind words—we are delighted that you enjoyed the warm welcome, our setting in the heart of the olive grove and mill, and watching the harvest being gathered and processed. Liked Perfunctory. Half an hour from Porto so reasonable uber prices.
Disliked Reception not overly welcoming, bar staff miserable and bordering rude.
Site dated, grubby, unlevel sandy muddy pitches lots with trees stuck in middle! Few near electric points need mega long cables.
Services clean but very dated.

Liked Excellent location good facilities clean and everything you need.
Pitches bit muddy and uneven and some long way from electric points a busy site due to location but nice vibe.
Staff helpful and always cleaning,
bins emptied regularly on site and toilets and areas cleaned several times a day.
Great beach bar/fish restaurant a few steps away open all hours, small shop on site with a few useful essentials.
Disliked Noisy site. Dustmen in street early, hotel opposite very very loud music till midnight not sites fault but clearly a regular thing.

Liked Nice little site about 15 pitches, some a little unlevel, a warm welcome in and friendly helpful staff. A bonus the site has a cafe/tea shop which serves great food.
A tiny washing up area basic but functional with black waste empty too.
Bathrooms were good and functional but all areas could do with good clean.
Disliked It is on a busy road but we didn’t find it too bad, this may be as it was a weekend so maybe not as busy as a working day.
I wrap would stay again.

From the manager: Thank you, Maggie, for the balanced review. We are pleased you enjoyed the warm welcome, helpful team, tearoom food and functional facilities and would stay again. We are sorry some areas were not as clean as they should have been; the facilities are checked and cleaned regularly, and your comment reinforces the need for close attention throughout every day. We also appreciate the fair mention of the A77 and the slightly uneven nature of some grass pitches.

Liked Very Clean site excellent location friendly staff on arrival, nice bathroom facilities and services all spotless.
Nice touch to have the little cafe onsite did a good Sunday lunch, and other food looked good. Local town easy walk to and nice place to visit especially the breweries!
Disliked Not a dislike just an observation, reception doesn’t seem to be open all day just afternoons so when we wanted to ask a question about busses we couldn’t as we didn’t see a single staff member after check in in four days.
A definite dislike but not site owners fault the site is next door to an exceptionally smelly farm it had overwhelming smell of slurry which was sickening, could not leave doors and windows open or sit outside so for that reason we would not go back.

Liked A securely gated site, that is also a canal boat yard. Site is right next to the canals and lock with a great pub next door too.
The Touring part is spotless, well laid out and with good facilities. It seems in the winter they close the touring bathrooms so you share the boat users but they are lovely private clean and nice and warm.
Water electric waste and wash up all there for use Everything you need for a great stay.
Great walks along the canal toe paths, easy walk to Leighton Buzzard which was a nice town with a market to mooch round. Overall a great stay.

Bodiam, East Sussex, England
Unpowered grass motorhome site
Liked This is a very mixed review on the one hand the site is in a great Location and fairly peaceful. Easy walking to Bodiam village, castle and pub. The Hub in the next field is a cracking place to be close to, great coffee cake and more, they did wine and cider tastings tapas and sangria, a few glasses of wine sitting in the sunshine was a pleasure.
The farmer was pleasant helpful and friendly.
Disliked However, the site itself wasn’t really as advertised there is no hard standing but a large grass field, which this summer is fine but a wet year may be difficult for larger vehicles, there is no “fruit farm” that we could see, it may well be but not visible from the site. As the pictures shows trees in blossom we were expecting fruit laden trees at this time of year but none to be seen. In fact the field is on the side of a small industrial road with vehicles coming and going.
Basic facilities, blue farm bins for rubbish and an old oil tank for chemical waste which is difficult to empty, with a hose to rinse basic but barely adequate. We were told to empty grey water on the field which I see the reason this year but bits of food waste in grey water may cause issues in due course.
The advertisement says motorhome and campervans and site does not accept tents or children however it’s clear the farmer accepts everyone that will pay, he did allow a tent and children which is annoying as we stayed at this basic site because it didn’t accept children. There was also a taxi with a couple sleeping in the back seat plus. Box van with a mattress in. Farmer returned to remind us no fires or coal bbq due to dry year and fire risk but clearly forgot to remind others, signs would be useful.
Overall we had peaceful stay but wouldn’t return sadly.
