The campsite was so well looked after, the grass looked like carpet! Our tent leaked on the first night thanks to the lovely weather so we had to go purchase another, the lovely man who runs the site came over and offered his help and helped put the new tent up in the downpour of rain, we will definitely be returning after not camping for 7 years and this being our first experience back was lovely. The campsite is well situated aswell being 20 minutes from Bakewell and about the same for Ashbourne! We did plan walks with our daughter and dogs but because of the weather that didn’t happen but you could really do some amazing walking around the site. All of the facilities were clean and well looked after. Clearly a respected site. Our little girl loved being near all the farm animals!

Maybe bigger bins someone had stupidly put their tent in the bin which completely filled it.

Where do we start. So we got the buzz for camping from mates on social media. We went on our venture of purchasing all the equipment from various places. Marketplace go out door asda Tesco winsfield u name it we went there even a bike carrier all set for three days with u guys. Found the camp site buzzing we had arrived . Let’s unload our stuff for our first ever adventure. Floor went down, tent came out.. and that’s where the fun stopped!!! The tent was knackered . We hadn’t checked it before or even after we purchased it from marketplace. The seller said it was perfect. How silly of us not to check. The back pole had snapped. We got help from the site manager Steve and the our next door neighbour to try and fix the issue but the damage was done. That’s when Steve went above and beyond his job role to save our stay. Stood in torrential rain helping us try and save our tent before returning with a loan tent and even put that up for us. He was truly a saviour. We stayed one night but left only because of the rain which Steve could not stop although I’m sure if he could he would have.

Privacy

Lack of showers. 1 shower for everybody was not sufficient for a busy weekend there. Also when toilets are flushed the shower is too hot to stand under

Steve was lovely and very helpful.

Exactly as described. Nothing fancy but everything worked and well looked after. Good views including the farm! Some pitches require levelers for the van. Steve on site was great and v helpful.
