If you're swanning around Spain with the smaller members of the clan, take them to Camping Entrerrobles. Fully set up for families, this site has amenities like a swimming pool, play area and football fields for the kids to run free in while the adults swap travel tips over an Estrella beer at a bar made from old sleeper trains... The park also has a restaurant with a glass pergola – for views of the mountains whatever the weather – and a shaded terrace where guests can order traditional homemade meals. And despite it being more than two hours and a half drive to the nearest coastline, a beach volleyball court is set up on site for sporty sessions on the sand. If the grains tickling your toes have you craving sunbathing stints near water, the artificial beaches of Playa Pita, Las Cabañas, Club Náutico and Peña Gamella at the Cuerda del Pozo Reservoir are 25 minutes from the park. History buffs can swing by the submerged village of La Muedra in this large swimming lake or flit around on a free tour of the Roman ruins at the Yacimiento Arqueológico de Numancia (20 minutes away). Not up for tottering too far? Guests can also stay put and soak up the rays at the site’s well-kept gardens or check out nearby nature on foot. Set in Soria’s Rio Razón valley, the oak, beech and pine surrounds are lush in the spring and summer months – and even lusher when they start to change colour come autumn. The supermarket, bakery, tavernas and small shops of Valdeavellano de Tera are less than 20 minutes’ walk away.

Liked: Nos gustó el recibimiento y las recomendaciones de turismo para realizar en los alrededores del camping. El terreno muy bien cuidado, nivelado y sobretodo aptas para las tiendas de campaña. Instalaciones muy limpias.

Liked: The team are very helpful, the on-site restaurant is good as it’s in the middle of nowhere. Nice pool but too deep for small children. Good facilities generally, washing area, Loos, showers all a bit dated but clean. Nice choice of pitches, all a good size.

Disliked: EHU is very low wattage so only good for a fridge, anything else tripped it so not really worth paying for.

Liked: Un camping en plena Naturaleza (zorro nocturno incluido), Sierra, con zonas de grandes árboles, parcelas amplias, de césped. Una piscina amplia, limpia, con mucho verde. Zonas de aseos también muy limpias, amplias, cómodas,... y el personal encantador. Si tu mascota está bien educada, puede corretear líbremente por la parcela y sus alrededores, e incluso llevarla al interior del bar (al comedor no, -creo que por ignorancia del establecimiento, que como en la mayoría no saben que por Ley está permitida la mascota en el comedor, en la cocina no-). Al pueblecito -encantador- se llega andando en unos 20 minutos, y hay un super con todo lo necesario. La misa en domingo es leida por una monja, ya que ni hay ni va un sacerdote. En el restaurante se come muy bien (algo carillo). Un camping MUY RECOMENDABLE por su tranquilidad -absoluta- en plena Naturaleza. Volveremos

Disliked: No poder pasar al comedor con mi perrillla (de 3 kg) -lo normal-

Liked: Excellent quiet location with great access to walks and interesting sites in the region. The pitches were a good size and facilities we're clean and spacious. The bar and restaurant were really good with a great option for local food including the mushroom speciality. There was a nice warming wood burner in the bar also, which was very welcome on our October visit. I would definitely come back again.

Local attractions

Also near the site are chances to mountain bike, pick mushrooms or birdwatch, with the paths of the Iberian Soria GR 86 crisscrossing this wildlife-rich region. A golf course is half an hour’s drive from the park if it isn’t a hol without practising some putting, and guests can also try out trotting through the tree-lined lands from a horse riding facility 20 minutes’ away. More history can be seen at the Ermita de San Saturio church (30 minutes' drive), a stunning sight built into the rock of a hillside and known for its 18th-century architecture and detailed frescos. More into lazing? The banks of the Laguna Negra de Urbión lake, a black lagoon surrounded by black craggy glacial rocks and pine forests, take 50 minutes to reach. The Cueva La Galiana Baja caves – a special protection area for birds – are an hour and 10 minutes from the site in the Rio Lobos canyon area.
