  • Close to the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park
  • Mountain setting and spectacular scenery, 300 metres from Viu de Linás
  • Playground, mini market and bar-restaurant with terrace
A site with a view (or two)... the pics of Camping Viu are so pretty you could hang them on your office wall. It's a site set in a meadow and surrounded by forest, in the Pyrenees part of Aragon's Huesca province and a few minutes' drive from the smashingly scenic Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park. This is a place for nature spotters and mountain fans, for hikers and cyclists, and for those who just like to sit and stare at splendid scenery... do have a look at the site pics... Camping Viu has modern facilities including a bar-restaurant with a big terrace, a playground and a mini market; there's also a laundry room and an amenities block with hot water. Wifi is available at reception and at the terrace of the bar.

Power optional grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: Bar, restaurant and shop were immaculate and well stocked. Lovely old boy checked me in quite late but was very accommodating. Met 2 other bikers and become friends so this place will be remembered.

Disliked: Close to road but not thst busy or noisy. Hills up to other spots are very steep and a bit gravely, if on a tall bike with wight and like me with little legs it might be hard to maneuver but nothing that drastic.

Power optional grass motorhome site

Liked: Quiet site. The location was good for hiking. Friendly staff, large very clean toilet block. Food in restaurant was basic but good. Good value for money.

Disliked: Don’t go by the pictures! Quite a few extremely old battered static caravan outfits on site that makes the site look bad. Once you get over the initial shock, it is a nice site. I suppose the site owners rely on the static pitches during the off season.

Power optional grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: Nos ayudaron a hinchar colchones

Disliked: La terraza no está preparada para cuadrillas grandes, éramos 11 y no nos dejaron mover ni un pelín las mesas. La mujer decía que le va a caer la bronca del jefe. Menudo hombre temerario tiene que ser. No entiendo esas normas. En las mesas más grandes se sentaban parejas. Ya que tienen esas normas a lo mejor sería coordinar a la gente a la hora de sentarse.

Local attractions

Mountain biking, bungee jumping (if you dare), horse riding, paragliding, canyoning, rafting and canoeing are all available in the area along with the walking trails, bike rides, waterfalls and spectacular scenery of the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park. The valleys and towns of Bujaruelo and Otal are 30 and 40 minutes' drive away. Around the site's Sobrarbe region, have a day out at district capital Boltaña to see its mountaintop 11th-century castle and the Aragonese Gothic and 16th-century Collegiate Church of San Pedro, one of the biggest churches in this part of the Pyrenees. Venturing further, another 11th-century castle is at Ainsa (an hour and 15 minutes), along with a 12th-century church, a handsome main square and the House of Culture, home to the biggest library in the Aragonese Pyrenees. For towns and culture, try the Romanesque churches of the villages of the Serrablo (40 minutes), the jolly pretty town of Jaca and its medieval walls (50 minutes) and the monastery of San Juan de la Peña with its church partly carved into the cliff, an hour and 15 minutes away.
