- Family-friendly Andalusia glamping in a 37-acre pine forest
- A 10-minute walk from a seven-kilometre sandy beach
- Pool, sports courts, coffee bar, restaurant and playground on site
An Andalusia break in 37 acres of pine forest… and there’s a good seven (yes, seven) kilometres of sandy beach just a few minutes’ walk away too? You may well feel like you’ve hit the jackpot with that combination already, but there’s more – because breaks at Kampaoh Isla Cristina also give you all the comfort that comes with a stay in a well-equipped glamping tent.
Tents here are designed to make life easy, whether you’re travelling as a couple or coming along on a family holiday. Beds are made up, towels are provided and you’ll have handy extras including a cool box, an electric heater and cooking kit for use at the camp kitchen.
All of this means you can get straight into holiday mode, perhaps helping the kids explore the forest trails, taking a dip in the pool or getting stuck into a game of something at the sports courts. Kids can also spend time at the playground or join in with organised activities (running on high-season weekends), while grownups relax in the coffee bar or soak up the views of the marshes and the adjacent Carreras river from the terrace.
Of course, there’s also the option of heading to the beach – it’s about 10 minutes’ walk away, with a kitesurfing and windsurfing centre for the active types. Walk a little further (20-30 minutes) and you’ll get to the shops and restaurants of Isla Cristina.
If that’s too far to go, it’s handy that there’s a restaurant on site, focusing on ingredients from the local fishing port, as well as a supermarket.

Local attractions
Those seven kilometres of sand may well detain you for much of your stay, but it’s good to get out a bit if you can – even if it’s to an alternative beach like Playa La Antilla (10 minutes’ drive) for a day of watersports, or Isla Canela (25 minutes) for a ride along the seafront cycle path.
For a wilder stretch, visit the Marismas del Odiel (45 minutes), which you can explore on walks, bike rides or boat trips from Punta Umbría (45 minutes) – these are particularly magical at sunset.
Urban time could well be on the cards too – perhaps with a stroll around Ayamonte (20 minutes), a favourite with both foodies (for its excellent seafood and tapas) and artists (for its colourful architecture and lovely light) or the whitewashed buildings of El Rocío (an hour and 15 minutes). Huelva (45 minutes) is also worth a look for its cathedral, historic streets and multi-storey pier Muelle del Tinto.
