It's free, quick and easy!
- Eco-friendly, sociable site 15 minutes' walk from Kranjska Gora centre
- Access to 100 kilometres of hiking trails from town
- Guided hikes and occasional communal meals on site
Hikes and bikes and canoes and ziplines and toboggans… Kranjska Gora is a cracking hub for all things alfresco and active. Up in this corner of the country, with the Upper Sava valley providing the scenic surrounds, it’s easy to fill many a day with outdoorsy pursuits both leisurely and lively.
With all this gorgeous greenery in full view, it’s perhaps no surprise that the folks at Natura Eco Camp have chosen to focus on preserving the natural environment as much as poss. And they’ve gone all out in their efforts, kitting their place out with solar power, spring water feeds, recycling bins, low-energy electrical appliances and complimentary eco-friendly toiletries.
It’s a sociable place too: guests are encouraged to gather for cookouts hosted by the site throughout the season, and there are communal tables for dining at other times. The folk here are also happy to organise guided hikes, letting you in on locals’ tips for wildlife spotting and herb picking as you ramble.
Natura’s edge-of-town setting means it's an excellent combo of peace and space coupled with easy access to amenities. It's about 15 minutes' stroll into the centre for supermarket supplies or restaurants.

Local attractions
Get set to get active: more than 100 kilometres of hiking trails are accessible from the town, and there’s plenty of scope for those who prefer to cycle too.
Routes can cover some seriously challenging gradients if that’s your thing, or keep it to a more leisurely pace strolling between inns and waterfalls if you like a gentler pace. If you’ve got kids in tow, seek out the special fairytale-themed trails.
Something a bit different? Try canoeing or paddleboarding at Jasna lake, half an hour’s walk away, or take the chairlift from the town centre to squeal your way down the Furious Pehta toboggan run. Local activity centres can sort out days of ziplining, paragliding and climbing, or you can bring the heartbeat down to a more normal level with a game of golf or an afternoon’s fishing for trout in the Sava Dolinka river.
Slovenia’s a pretty compact country so if you’re moving on (or fancy a change of scenery), it’ll only take you an hour or so to drive to Ljubljana or 40 minutes to Lake Bled. The site's just a few minutes’ drive from Triglav National Park and a climb of Mount Triglav too.
