Come with an empty stomach if you’re staying at Camping Il Collaccio, a scenic and well-equipped foodie site in the Umbrian hills on the site of a former agricultural company and just to the west of Monti Sibillini National Park. The restaurant, Al Porcello Felice – which serves fresh Umbrian cuisine and specialities such as baked black trout, pink trout salad, salami, pancetta strozzapreti and tagliatelle with black truffle from its a la carte menu – is most definitely a highlight here. Once you’ve stopped salivating, you might like to know that chances to burn off all those extra calories are all around the site as it’s in a peaceful, green setting on the side of a hill about an hour and 20 minutes’ drive from Perugia. It has easy access to national park hikes and climbs as well as outdoor adventures such as trekking, paragliding, hang gliding, rafting and canyoning. With 100,000 square metres of greenery and views of the Valnerina region, big lunches can be balanced out by strolls across the site too, which is set around the stone house of Casale Grande (refurbished to contain the Camping Il Collaccio bar, shop, trattoria and reception). The grounds are home to shaded pitches and the site’s toilets, showers, washing-up area and disabled facilities as well. If you need a seriously intense workout after all the gorging, leisure facilities include two pools (with plenty of space for sunbathing alongside); a grass and mini-volleyball field; a five-a-side football field; a tennis court; a bowling green and two ping pong tables. All facilities and amenities are included in the pitch price… so you’ll have more cash to splash on those Umbrian meals.

Liked Fantastico, la strutture è bellissima e ben curata. Noi eravamo in tenda è abbiamo trovato un buon posto, tranquillo con un bella vista della valle, anche un rubinetto vicino che era comodo. I bagni sono vicini (ci sono più di uno, quindi non si deve camminare troppo a lungo), e molto pulito. Finalmente la parte più speciale di questo campeggio è il ristorante e piscina, fai fatica trovare una piscina più bella di questa e il cibo era eccezionale, al prezzo onesto è lo staff gentile e accomodante. Sicuro torneremo!

Liked Prachtige camping met een mooi uitzicht vanaf vrijwel iedere staplaats. De toiletgebouwen waren mooi onderhouden en op ieder moment van de dag schoon.
Je geniet veel privacy wanneer je hiervoor kiest. Wij hebben veel rust ervaren.

Het zwembad en aangrenzende restaurant zijn prachtig. Je hebt een geweldig uitzicht vanuit het zwembad. Bij het winkeltje kan vers brood worden besteld en vind je nog enkele broodnodige artikelen. Meer heeft het echter niet te bieden.

Al met al een geweldige ervaring op een betoverende plaats in de heuvels van Umbrië.

Disliked Het is erg heuvelachtig. Dit is te verwachten in dit gebied. Het kan echter voor ouderen of mensen die slecht te been zijn een hele opgave zijn om het toiletgebouw te bereiken.

Liked La location. Un affaccio spettacolare sulla vallata. Sei veramente immerso e questo per un campeggio è il massimo.

Disliked Nella zona circostante alla piscina non sono ammessi i cani, e non c’è un’area dedicata a loro.

Another town, Spello (55 minutes), is well worth visiting for its medieval walls and marble buildings.
