The beaches at this north-east Sardinian site are so utterly lovely you might have to blink once or twice to melt the illusion that it's a giant postcard. Sì, that was beaches plural. There are eight – and a marina – at the spectacular island site of the Olbia Tempio province's Centro Vacanze Isuledda, just off the stunning Costa Smeralda in the centre of the Gulf of Arzachena, and looking out to the Maddalena Archipelago National Park. The eight beaches are interspersed with rocky gorges, meaning you should easily find a suitable spot for sailing, diving and other watersports as well as for sunbathing and beach lazing. The white sands and clear shallow waters of Bianca beach are safe for kids and popular with families; the secluded and peaceful amphitheatre beach comes with sunbeds and umbrellas for guests' exclusive use, and the marina beach is a handy alternative for a sandy day as it's a short stroll from the centre of the village. Sì, that was a marina mentioned. Several berths on floating docks, fixed docks and wood with some moorings are right on site for sailor sorts who want to rent a boat here or bring their own. If you're more of a serene sort, promenade gently to the centre of the site for a session at The Island of Wellness Spa, a place of peace and pampering surrounded by greenery. Also among the facilities at this large smart site are a playground, a games room, a TV room and several restaurants including a pizzeria and a grillhouse. Entertainment for all tastes runs in both the amphitheatre and the piano bar – if you ever manage to peel yourself off whichever of the eight beaches you've picked for that day…

Spacious, modern loos and a decent wee shop. Stunning Costa Smeralda views and a lovely natural setting, close to the sea and a good eatery. Friendly staff, but some found it pricey, especially for standard pitches. Water points were distant, and some felt segregated by nationality.

Liked Sanitäranlagen geräumig und recht neu. Immer sauber. Minimarkt mit sehr guter Auswahl und nicht überteuert.

Disliked Sehr teuer für das was geboten wird. in der Hauptsaison für 4 Personen für 5 Tage für einen Standardplatz über 700 € zu verlangen ist schon happig. Dieser wäre viel zu klein für uns gewesen und sah nicht einladend aus. Somit war ein Upgrade nötig für einen schöneren Platz. Nochmals 300 € extra. In Summe runtergerechnet dann 200 € pro Tag dafür zu verlangen ist ein Witz. Zumal wir zwar rumgefahren wurden um einen Platz auszusuchen, wir dann den vermeintlich besten davon ausgesucht haben, und nachdem wir alles aufgebaut hatten am nächsten Tag feststellen mussten, dass es in der Kategorie wesentlich größere und besser gelegene freie Plätze gab, war sehr ärgerlich. Für die paar Tage hatten wir aber keinen Nerv wieder alles zusammen zu packen und umzuziehen. Darüber hinaus hatten wir den Eindruck dass uns diese Plätze absichtlich nicht gezeigt wurden, weil offensichtlich nach Nationalitäten getrennt wurde. In unserer Ecke / in dem Bereich waren ausschließlich Deutsche, Österreicher und Niederländer. In den anderen fast nur Italiener.

Liked Mega Ausblick auf die Costa Smeralda. Gut in die Natur eingebetteter Campingplatz. Sanitäranlagen werden mehrmals täglich gereinigt. Wir waren super zufrieden.

Liked Saubere Sanitäranlagen, Plätze auch für große Wohnmobile ausreichend, sehr viele Plätze mit Meerblick, freundliche Mitarbeiter an ganzen Campingplatz.

Disliked Wasseranschlüsse manchmal zu weit ( bei mir ca 25 m)

By plane: The airport of Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is 30km from Centro Vacanze Isuledda and Cannigione Arzachena. By car: Follow the signs for Arzachena/SS125. Past the 25km mark, turn right at the fork. Go past the town of Cannigione and continue on the coastal road for 3km. By boat: The nearest passenger port is Olbia (about 30km) and Golfo Aranci (about 35km). They are linked to Genoa, Livorno, Civitavecchia. If you are coming from France, Porto Torres is 150km away.

Local attractions

This utterly fab setting is on the Costa Smeralda, famed far and wide for its stunning emerald beaches such as Liscia Ruia, Cappriccioli, Piccolo Pevero, Spiaggia del Principe and Romazzino. Small restaurants are dotted along the coast and the beach resorts, dishing up traditional Sardinian food, fresh fish and first-rate wine. Dig into the ancient history of the area at the Museo Archeologico within 30 minutes' drive at Olbia, set on its own island on the harbour and covering the settlement of the region from Greek times onwards. There's also the collection of prehistoric monuments just outside local town Arzachena, including Giants’ Tombs (burial sites) and Sardinia’s nuraghi, the towers scattered all over the island from its days of yore. Directly opposite the site and viewable from the beach is the Maddalena Archipelago National Park, covering all the islands and islets of the Municipality of La Maddalena. A diving centre and boat trips are also available nearby.
