Looking to combine a camping break, a beach holiday and city-sightseeing excursions into one Puglian adventure? You can do exactly that at Oasy Park, a leafy site for tents, caravans and campervans right on the outskirts of lively Otranto. It’s also only five minutes’ drive (or 20 minutes’ walk, if you’re keen to abandon the car) from the soft sands at Molo and Gradoni beaches. Some of the fully-serviced pitches at this family-friendly spot are partially shaded by trees (useful to keep you all cool in the height of summer), while others have views over red Otranto rooftops. There are plenty of showers (some alfresco), as well as washing machines and washing-up areas to take care of your chores. Other facilities to make family life super-easy on site include a laid-back terrace bar serving lunch and supper, and vending machines for all-day snack attacks. If you’d prefer to get a barbecue going back at your pitch, source goodies for the grill from the local supermarket (15 minutes’ walk). Family dogs are welcome to join you at Oasy Park, and there are lots of quiet countryside strolls to be had with your pets (or indeed solo) among the olive groves that surround the site.

Liked Ho gradito molto il punto ristoro sempre ombreggiato e disponibile per passare del tempo in relax e fare conoscenza con i campeggiatori. Lo staff del bar è stato gentile e super disponibile in qualsiasi momento. Tornerei volentieri per questo servizio.
La posizione rispetto ad Otranto è fantastica, solo pochi minuti a piedi è si è nel centro storico e con la macchina si raggiungono facilmente le spiagge più belle del Salento.

Disliked Ho trovato scomodo avere i servizi igienici e le docce molto lontano dall'area tende, dovendo attraversare il parcheggio in breccia. Mi sono meravigliata della poca pulizia dei bagni e della scarsa manutenzione di docce, soffioni, lavandini. Non ci sono rotoli di carta igienica ed è davvero scomodo portare beautycase, asciugamani e cambi abito nei bagni poiché mancano ripiani puliti di appoggio, attaccapanni ecc.. Nell' area dedicata alle tende mancavano coperture adeguate per il sole, anche semplicemente dei teli traforati che permettessero un po' di riparo anche alle tende centrali e non solo a quelle disposte sotto il bellissimo fico. Per quanto non abbia problemi nell' adattamento, preferisco essere onesta per chiunque venga in questo camping sul fatto che si tratta di un posto senza ghirigori e con servizi ridotti all' osso.

Liked Camping alle porte di Otranto in aperta campagna, non troverai animazione o piscina ma un comodo appoggio dove poter riposare a due passi dal centro storico di Otranto nonostante si rimane immetsi nelle campagne. Docce calde stupende, bagni sempre puliti e anche un punto ristoro e lavatrici... Gestori sempre disponibili.

If you’re big into history, you really should have a look at Otranto, where you can take guided tours of the ramparts and towers of 15th-century Castello Aragonese (15 minutes’ walk) and admire the floor mosaics of mythical beasts in medieval Cattedrale di Santa Maria Annunziata (20 minutes). Get Adriatic Sea views from the belvedere on neighbouring Piazza Cattedrale, or walk down tiny lanes to the Lungomare degli Eroi seafront prom (25 minutes) for a coffee and pastry in waterfront cafés. Bucket-and-spade days might include a sojourn at a lido on the city beaches of Molo and Gradoni (20 minutes), or you can jump in the car and head for the peaceful, rocky inlet at Spiaggia di Porto Badisco (10 minutes’ drive), with a bite-size sandy pocket and a couple of informal seafood restaurants. Baia dei Turchi (15 minutes) is another option, popular with families for its safe swimming in clear waters. Get well off the tourist trail with a hike around the multi-hued rocks at Cava di Bauxite quarry lake (five minutes), or pay homage to Pope John Paul II at the landmark Croce del Papa memorial (also five minutes).
