You'll be bang next to lovely Lake Garda with a stay at Camping Il Faro in Italy’s Lombardy region: this peaceful family-run waterside site is 50 metres from a lake beach between Rocca di Garda and San Biagio island, and also within easy reach of pedalo rentals, watersports and hikes. Welcoming guests since 1980, this is a peaceful site that places emphasis on relaxing among spectacular surroundings; there’s no entertainment here – just a series of gentle distractions. Ping pong tables and a small sports area are on hand for active times, and for afterwards, there's a 224-square-metre outdoor swimming pool with a roomy sun terrace and deckchairs (open during high season only). A grassy relaxation area with umbrellas and yet more sun loungers dotted around is at your disposal too for more spells spent horizontally. Pitches are spacious and grassy, and offer plenty of shade from the scorch of the Italian sun, and when it comes to feeding time, guests are welcome to sizzle up their own fodder on the barbecue or make the most of all the soft grassy areas around the site and park up with a picnic. If you're up for venturing off site, tickets can be reserved for local events and shows, and boat excursions can be booked from nearby marinas to Sirmione, Bardolino and Lazise right on site, at the reception area’s handy tourist info point.

Disliked Sistemazione pessima.eravamo messi tra il passaggio della piscina con vista wc. Siamo andati in direzione e non c'erano piu posti(con prenotazione di alcuni medi prima). Poi ci siamo accorti che le postazione migliori c'è l'avevano solo i clienti abituali. Chi andava di passaggio come noi eravamo buttati a destra e sinistra nei posti peggiori. per non parlare delle persone che da anni frequentano quel posto. La maleducazione da parte degli adulti e bambini che ho trovato li non si trova da nessuna parte. Dovevano essere 3 gg di relax, invece sono state di stress. Praticamente a lavoro mi rilassavo di più. Non c'era nessun servizio di prima necessità. Pessimo e basta

Liked Wirklich direkt am Gardasee, schöner Strand. Saubere Toiletten, wurden abends und morgens geputzt, viele Restaurants etc fußläufig zu erreichen.

Disliked Pool zu vielen Zeiten geschlossen (Mittagsruhe, Abendruhe,..) und sehr voll. Kein Spielplatz.

Liked All in all pretty nice. Was cool that they have some big tree so u dont have ur tent in the bright sun. We were here at the Start of August and it wasnt so croweded. I was afraid, that it ist a compete famaly camping sight with lots of noisy kids but it was fine. There were some kids but all in all much more quiet an chilled than I expectet. The lake is awesome

Liked Great location. Plenty of shade for when it gets too warm on the beach. Toilets clean. Lots of cafes near by. Cafe bar on site nice for an afternoon drink looking out on the lake.

Disliked Small shop on site would have been nice. Long walk to ferries to get to other parts of the lake.

Local attractions

A serviced and dog-friendly beach is next to the site, a 50-metre stroll away. You can hire pedalos here, or should you be in the market for something just a tad more adrenalised, ask the friendly site team about which nearby spots are good for watersports (there are plenty). From the site you can also embark on highly scenic promenades around Garda’s pretty perimeter, or into the surrounding countryside among olive and lemon groves and palm, oleander and orange trees. The climb up to Rocca di Garda is a trip well worth taking, as here you’ll be 650 feet above the waters below for an utterly spectacular vista. To keep the kids topped up with gleeful squeals, visit Gardaland theme park for rides and attractions to suit all ages (including grownups), and to the neighbouring Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium to witness live shark feeding (if you’re not too squeamish) and to explore its 13 themed areas with 40 tanks housing more than 5,000 water creatures.
