  • Family-friendly camping five minutes’ drive from Ahrbrück in the Eifel
  • Ahr Valley wineries 10 minutes’ drive; Nürburgring half an hour
  • Grass pitches; swimming lake, sauna and gym; walks from the site
Five minutes’ drive from the pretty, half-timbered town of Ahrbrück, Camping Denntal is a peaceful campsite with neatly maintained, spacious grass pitches (all with electric hook-ups and a water supply) in the middle of lushly forested Eifel foothills. This welcoming, family-friendly site offers up lots of leisure activities to keep whole families nicely busy, including a kids’ play area in a sandpit, a pool table and a small swimming lake for cooling off on sunny days. Adults can head for the gym to hone their fitness regime, and then soothe any aching muscles in the wooden sauna post workout. You can keep everyone fed and watered on site too, thanks to a daily bread delivery service and the campsite restaurant, which serves up an all-day supply of family favourites like burgers and fries. Practical amenities include a modern shower block, washing machines and dryers to take care of any laundry, and baby-changing rooms with baths for the youngest guests – plus there’s even a dedicated shower for any muddy canine pals.

What customers say

A tidy, peaceful spot in a lovely valley, perfect for Eifel adventures. Staff are praised, as are the excellent bathrooms. Enjoy the restaurant and natural pool, but note limited showers, extra charges, slow Wi-Fi, cash-only payments and pitch upkeep needs a boost.

Power optional concrete and grass caravan site

Liked Convenient location for north / south trip. Friendly welcome, good size pitches.
Bonus was being 10 miles from Nurburg Ring - wasted an enjoyable afternoon watch the brave throw their cars around the track.....

Disliked Paying extra for electricity & showers was a faff - but this was reflected in a lower pitch price.

Power optional concrete and grass caravan site

Liked This is quite a remote campsite in a very beautiful location.
There are limited facilities but that fits the kind of place it is.
What there is very clean, well looked after and high quality. (Showers/washing etc)
It is great for hiking and off road cycling. The area is worth an explore.
The team were friendly.

Disliked Not dislikes… just thoughts.
It does have a small playground, but it does not have a particularly family feel- no ball games allowed for example. Not at all hostile towards children, just to consider if you are going with kids.
It really is quite remote and the infrastructure in the area was completely destroyed in a flood in 2021 so a car is useful though there are busses.
The weather was a bit pants whilst we were there and the remoteness and limited facilities become more obvious.
The pool had to be closed too. Which was a shame.
Please don’t take this as negative, it is a beautiful campsite and excellent for walkers and proper relaxation looking at the birds and the forests etc.
