It's free, quick and easy!
- Small orchard site in the Luberon region
- Swimming pool, playground and restaurant
- Hire bikes on site to explore the countryside, castles and villages
Between Avignon and Aix-en-Provence, and between the regional nature parks of Luberon and Alpilles... carve out some significant time at this southern France site in a scenic cherry orchard.
The core of your hol here should be getting out and about around this lush region: Luberon is mighty fine for cycling and you can hire bikes on site to wheel yourself off to the local paths and attractions. Viewsome villages, lavender fields and heady zipwire sessions are also close by, or you could paddle along by canoe on the Sorgue river... or venture along the Gorges de Regalon a couple of kilometres away on foot, bike or horseback. The Med and its beaches are within 40 minutes' drive.
Your leisurely options on site include an outdoor pool, a playground, a pétanque court and a TV room for retreating indoors to on a hot southern France day (after a plunge in the pool, natch). There's also a restaurant with terrace and quite spectacular ice cream creations: another option for retreating too on a sunny southern France day...
Eats are also essential for leisurely pleasure in France: source some what you need in local village Mérindol five minutes' drive away, and more foodie goodies in other Vaucluse department communes like Mallemort, four and a half kilometres away.

Local attractions
Several scenic settlements are around for day trips, such as Ménerbes (30 minutes), one of the 'perched villages of Provence': set on a hilltop with splendid views of countryside, hills and local vineyards. (If you're a fan of le vino, you may like to pop along to the corkscrew museum a couple of kilometres below town too.)
Also worth a look are Salon-de-Provence (20 minutes), surounded by olive-clad hills, and Gordes (40 minutes), with a spectacular hill setting that's drawn artists from far and wide for generations. Fontaine de Vaucluse (35 minutes) is the starting point for canoe and kayak trips along the Sorgue; closer to home, heading out from Mérindol (about three kilometres from town) will have you at the start of the hike around the Gorges de Regalon on a waymarked trail of around three and a half hours.
Other options include tree climbing and zipwiring at Passerelles Des Cimes adventure park (30 minutes), pottering around the UNESCO sites of Avignon (40 minutes), or having at least a day in Marseille, 55 minutes' drive away.
