- Riverside setting 10 minutes' walk from the small town of Meyrueis
- Near the Gorges du Tarn and Mont Aigoual
- Pool, climbing wall, bar, snack bar, shop and barbecues
There's some stunning scenery around Camping Le Capelan in the Lozère region: its setting on the banks of the Jonte river has the Gorges de la Jonte and Gorges de la Dourbie to the west, Mont Aigoual to the south-east and the Gorges du Tarn to the north – four spectacular spots you'll very much want to see on a Languedoc-Roussillon hol.
Active types are well catered for around here, with walking, cycling and mountain bike routes all to hand from local town Meyrueis 10 minutes away, and fishing, rock climbing, canyoning, canoeing, rafting, horse riding and tennis all popular picks in the surroundings. Caves, medieval villages, animal parks and farms are within easy driving distance.
Guests of all types have loads to keep them entertained on site in between all the caving and sightseeing, including fishing in the river, a heated pool, a climbing wall, two playgrounds, a large multisports pitch, two pétanque courts, table tennis, table football and snooker. For food (and vino), there's a snack bar and a bar (with satellite TV), a grocery shop, and communal barbecues.
The amenities include two blocks with showers and toilets, or there are private bathrooms for sinking into soaks at the end of a long sightseeing day. The site also has a launderette with washing machines and tumble dryers.
