- Peaceful family-friendly site on the banks of the Orb river
- Direct access to a riverside beach, close to Roquebrun
- Playground, library, tennis, fishing and bowling all available
To the Orb! And specifically to Camping de l'Orb, a scenic site on the banks of the Orb river, in a wildlife haven facing the most excellent old town of Roquebrun – and you may also care to know that all this loveliness comes with direct access to a sandy beach too?
Camping Campotel de l'Orb is just across the river from Roquebrun, the ancient village with beaut bridge spanning the water. This part of the Hérault department is crammed with valleys and gorges, gardens, vineyards, old villages, and outdoor activities of all flavours, such as canoeing, kayaking and swimming on the Orb or among the Hérault gorges, or hiking among the stunning limestone cliffs and crags of the valley.
As a riverside locale, Camping de l'Orb comes with both a handsome setting and a goodly amount of watery things to do: boating, swimming, sailing and yachting are all available at the beach, and fishing is available from the site. Hiking, tennis and ping pong are among the other activities arranged for guests by the team; there's a bowling area for you to show off your moves (or not), and a library for a peaceful hour or two indoors.
If you seek yet more distraction, a leisure centre is 50 metres from the site.

Local attractions
Canoeing, kayaking, paddleboating, fishing, swimming, sailing, yachting and boating are among the heady mixture of Orb-based activities to bounce along to from here, either directly from the site's beach or with the assistance of the kayaking centre a few minutes' walk away.
Over the river, wander the 10 minutes or so to Roquebrun, a big village with the moniker of the Nice of Hérault because of its mild microclimate and lush Mediterranean garden with mimosas and cacti: do clamber up to this hillside spot, as the views from here are spectacular.
About 25 minutes' drive to Roquebrun's north west, the handsome village of Olargues, on the banks of the Jaur river and in the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park, is a pretty place for a day trip as well as a good starting point for hikes and bike rides in the regional park.
A must-see in the area is Béziers, one of France's protected history towns and slap bang in the centre of the country's biggest wine-producing region. You should also carve out time for a trek around the Hérault valley and its gorges (a UNESCO World Heritage Site): swimming and boating are popular in the valley's waters in summer.
