It's free, quick and easy!
- Well-maintained seven-hectare holiday park an hour's drive from Paris
- Disneyland Paris and Parc Astérix less than an hour's drive
- Heated indoor and outdoor pools, play area, tennis court and bar
Paris… and theme parks… and forest walks… the area around Camping Le Village Parisien certainly has all the trappings of a great family holiday. And with easy access from several major motorways, you could easily use this Île-de-France site for quick stopovers on cross-country jaunts too.
Not that it’s all about the location – this family-friendly holiday park makes a fine destination in its own right, with seven hectares of well-maintained green grounds on the banks of the river Marne just outside the village of Varreddes.
And that means that while there's lots of scope for boulevard-hopping in Paris and meeting your favourite cartoon characters at Disneyland Paris or Parc Astérix, you'll also find lots to keep you around on site, where leisure facilities include heated indoor and outdoor pools, a play area, tennis courts and pétanque. A restaurant, shop and bar are all on site to provide sustenance for all these activities (plus extra activities in summer, when the kids' club and evening entertainment are up and running).
The local area is full of rural places to explore too, with plenty of options for relaxed riverside strolls or quiet forest bike rides. The nearby village has a few shops and restaurants, while over in Meaux (15 minutes’ drive) there’s a wider selection of supermarkets and leisure facilities, along with an RER station that can get you to central Paris in about 40 minutes.

Local attractions
If you’ve brought the kids, no doubt it’s not escaped your attention that there are two really rather large attractions nearby – both Disneyland Paris (half an hour’s drive) and Parc Astérix (50 minutes) make excellent days out, and to make your trips there even easier you can usually pick up tickets in advance on site.
Attractions on a smaller scale, but still likely to find favour with the kids, are over in Meaux (15 minutes), which has miniature golf and boat rentals in Parc du Pâtis along with a river beach for cool paddles. If you or they need a bit of quiet time, aim for the walking and bike trails of Montceaux forest (15 minutes' drive).
Paris (an hour’s journey by car or train) should certainly be on the menu – there’s always something new to see/do/eat, however many times you’ve been before. If you’re after a bit of history and culture away from the city centre, head to the gorgeous Château de Chantilly (50 minutes) for a tour of one of the country’s finest buildings.
