  • Well-maintained site with sea views on the north Finistère coast
  • Located in Plounéour-Trez, a 45-minute drive from Brest and Roscoff
  • On-site tennis court, launderette, games room, bar and restaurant
On the lookout for a restful stay in Finistère? You're not alone: this part of Brittany is popular thanks to its comely coast, gorgeous countryside and forests infused with Arthurian myth. If you're one to say 'oui' to seaside views in a peaceful spot, Slow Village Breizh Légendes could be just the ticket. This Plounéour-Trez site is mere metres from a fine sandy beach and the rolling waves of the Atlantic. This location means spectacular vistas will be with you pretty much throughout your stay: stop and take them in at the bar or restaurant, or take the kids down to the shallow creek by the water where they can safely paddle next to the ocean. Of a summer's eve you may be tempted to turn your gaze to the family-friendly entertainment that's regularly staged by the site. Slow Village Breizh Légendes has a number of handy facilities to help guests make the most of their hols, including a food shop, wifi, an indoor pool, a kids' club, a games room, a tennis court, pétanque and a launderette. Well-behaved sea dogs are welcome here. A supermarket is available nearby in Brignogan-Plages (10 minutes' drive).

Local attractions

This is a walkers' paradise: the spectacular long-distance GR34 trail runs adjacent to the site, making it a breeze for guests to stroll along the coast and explore neighbouring towns and villages. Nearby Plouguerneau (25 minutes' drive) is a scenic port town with an impressive lighthouse and friendly surf school (you can also hire equipment here if you're already dab hand). More maritime jaunts are to be had in Brest (45 minutes), home to the National Navy Museum, and Roscoff (45 minutes), a port town whose botanical garden has one of the best collections of exotic plants in France. Roscoff can also be your launchpad for offshore adventure. Take the ferry from the harbour to the Île de Batz (crossing time 15 minutes) and explore this gem of an isle (being almost totally car-free, this is one of the most peaceful spots around). Further coastal capers are on hand at the Château du Taureau (45 minutes' drive, then a 15-minute crossing), an island fortress with spectacular coastal views. For an even more dramatic setting, make tracks for Bertheaume Iroise Aventure (one hour), an adventure park with zipwires that zoom right over the Atlantic.
