The kids, of course, may not give a hoot about the historic setting of this fine family site, a short stroll from the famed D-Day landing beach of Utah and a few minutes' drive from the Normandy town of Sainte-Marie-du-Mont.
But you should give not a hoot about that, as there's loads of stuff on and around Camping Utah Beach to keep all sizes entertained... and to possibly have the kids so mollified that they graciously agree to advance to one or two of the area's many historical highlights. (If they're of a mind for that, the Utah Beach Museum is within walking distance).
Flower Camping Utah Beach is packed with leisure facilities to keep your small sorts – and your good self – fully entertained too: there's a playground with trampoline and inflatable games, along with tennis and pétanque courts, miniature golf, a ping pong table and a heated and covered pool. Archery, kayak rental and sand yachting are all available for an extra charge.
Food is sorted at the well-equipped grocery shop, which also sells bread fresh every day, and at the bar-restaurant and pizzeria, where even the pickiest small diner should find quite a few options to tuck into.
A kids' club runs in summer, part of a packed programme including sports tournaments, bingo and karaoke nights and aqua gym: check the schedule to ensure you can cram in as much as poss between days at the beaches, museums, the Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin Natural Regional Park, Cherbourg, the Cité de la Mer... the kids should give a hoot about at least some of that.

Local attractions
As aforementioned, this is a land full of history: World War II enthusiasts can visit the D-Day landing beaches including Utah a mere 50 metres away, and the D-Day Experience, the tank museum and the German and American cemeteries are within easy reach of the site.
Active options are easily accessed around here too, such as sand yachting on Utah beach or horse riding from the equine centre of Sainte-Mère-Eglise. The Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin Natural Regional Park, a huge wetland area about half an hour's drive away, is a top spot for boating, fishing and wildlife watching among its marshes, moors, dunes and estuaries: drive along to the main visitor centre in Saint-Côme-du-Mont (15 minutes away) to pick up info and ideas.
The Camping Utah Beach team also recommends visits to the town of Azeville and the German battery of Crisbecq, both within 20 minutes; Cherbourg harbour and the splendid Cité de la Mer aquarium, around half an hour away, and one of France's most famed sights in Mont Saint-Michel, an hour from the site.
