It's free, quick and easy!
- Comfortable and modern resort in the Pyrenees
- Pool, games room and activities; bar and restaurant on site
- Lourdes and Pau less than an hour away by car
In this secluded spot you can’t tell where the chalets stop and the mountains start... swim in the pool and the grassy lower slopes of the Pic de Ger rise right past you... or cast your eyes on the local scenery anywhere from the terrace of the bar to see the white peaks of the Pyrenees.
You’ll answer their call for sure, but this site is also well set up for those easy days when you don’t go far. There are daytime activities for kids in the summer (build a hut, raft down the rapids) and in the evenings they gravitate to the games room. The sauna soothes trail-tired limbs and if they’re not tired enough, give them extra workouts in the gym.
The chalets are a three-minute drive from the centre of Gourette, with shops and supermarkets and alternative eateries to the popular restaurant on site. As they're slap bang in the middle of the Pyrenees National Park, you won’t be short of sights to sigh over, from wooded hills rising to peaks, to clear river streams becoming foaming rapids as they cut through deep ravines and rocky gorges. The local area is laced with walking trails from gentle strolls to grand circuits.

Route directions
Satnav users: if you have a larger vehicle, do not go through the village of Béost-Assouste as the narrow, winding road may be difficult.
Please note: All distances on this page are calculated "as the crow flies" - please check actual distance depending on your mode of travel using the Get directions button above.
Local attractions
You don’t have to climb for hours to get high up: a cable car from Artouste-Febrèzes (45 minutes’ drive) takes sightseers and thrillseekers to the Artouste train for an hour’s circuit of cliffs and gullies and impossible bends amongst the clouds. If you’re really into cable cars (and their destinations), go up Pic du Midi de Bigorre (two hours 15 minutes) for views across into Spain.
After you’ve been up, try down: villages on the Gave de Pau and Gave de L’Ossau rivers are starting points for rafting and kayaking adventures. At Hautacam (an hour away in Argelès-Gazost) you can go downhill (very fast) on the mountain luge or bounce down in offroad go-karts.
Pau and Lourdes are each an hour away. Napoleon had his architect knock down city walls in Pau so everyone could enjoy the mountain view, and it’s still very fine: go see. For other kinds of healing after Lourdes, the spa of Eaux-Bonnes (10 minutes from site) offers massages, mud baths and everything for the deservedly tired traveller.
