Well now. There's going to be some dithering about what to do first when you and your crew settle down at Vejers Familie Camping in Southern Denmark. The kids, if they're at all typical of the species, will clamour to get to wide and sandy Vejers beach first of all, to submerge themselves in hours of paddling and sandcastle construction for tiddlers, or swimming, surfing and sailing for those with more experienced sea legs. And what a range of other options they'll have near their seaside resort base too. A waterpark and sports park nearby both have unlimited free access for Vejers Familie Camping guests, to keep all sizes of splashers and adventurers occupied gratis for aeons. And then there's what's around for day trips, such as Blåvand Zoo, Legoland, regular Varde festivals and even a spot of skydiving… A nicely varied kids' programme is to hand on site to keep all tastes entertained, such as miniature golf tournaments, nature trails and cooking and craft workshops. A playground – with giant jumping pillow for joining-in grownups – is also to hand for their amusement. (Grownups will probably yearn for splashes in the pool and sunbathing sessions alongside – or to sink into solitude in the TV room after a day at Legoland while their other half sorts out the evening barbecue.) Finally, most unusually (but absolutely fably), a library bus stops outside the site every Wednesday: taking your time choosing a tome is a decision that should be thoroughly dithered over too.

  • The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.
  • A charge of DKK8.00 ($2.12) applies for the use of the shower.
  • The outdoor swimming pool is open between 26/05 and 28/08 (subject to weather conditions).
  • Reception is unmanned after 6 p.m.. Please inform the campground while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time so that the team can provide information about your unit/site.
  • Pitches : from 27 March to 04 July and 09 August to 18 October electricity is metered onsite at 4.5 DKK per kWh and must be paid at check-out; from 05 July to 08 August, there is unlimited use for 45 DKK per night if you select the relevant extra.

Great welcome, top facilities like a communal oven and clean loos. Awesome spot close to beach, shops and bike trails. Staff are ace. A few grumbles though: pool hours short, shower costs/timing woes, family pool needs a spruce-up, and the water's a bit nippy.

Liked Wir waren vom 3. Juli bis zum 13. Juli auf dem Campingplatz Familie in Vejers und wir kommen definitiv wieder! Für uns war alles perfekt. Die Duschen und die Toilette waren immer sauber. Backöfen, Ceranfelder und Mikrowellen sind zur freien Nutzung für jeden Camper da. Ein Pool ist auch auf der Anlage mit einer kleinen Rutsche und Liegen.

Liked After a long journey, we received such a warm welcome and were even given the opportunity to choose the pitch that suited us best from those available. It was a lovely start to our stay.

The facilities were spotless throughout, and one feature we particularly appreciated was the communal oven. We’d been cooking on our camper’s hob for most of our trip, so being able to prepare a proper oven meal was a real treat and something we hadn’t experienced at any other campsite.

The location is fantastic, with the beach, bakery, small shops, restaurants, and a convenience store all within easy walking distance. As keen cyclists, we also loved the wide range of bike trails that start right from the campsite.

We had a fabulous short stay as part of our touring holiday and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this campsite to family and friends. We look forward to returning in the future!

Disliked The opening times of the pool were very short, in the middle of the morning or afternoon when we were out, so we didn’t have an opportunity to use it.

Liked Wszystko było fajne.
Duży plus za darmowe wejciowki przez cały pobyt na basen w miejscowości Oksbøl (10min od Vejers).
Były dni że pogoda nie dopisała i w takiej sytuacji zawsze korzystaliśmy z tej opcji.
Również Pani w recepcji była dla nas miła i pożyczyła nam przedłużkę do skrzyni z prądem.👌
Jesteśmy kolejny raz bardzo zadowoleni.

Liked Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt auf dem Campingplatz.
Der Campingplatz ist sauber, gepflegt und hat unsere Erwartungen mehr als erfüllt.
Die Lage des Campingplatzes ist toll, ruhig, strandnah, ideal für Ausflüge.
Unser Stellplatz war großzügig, schön gelegen, gut gepflegt.
Die sanitären Anlagen waren sehr sauber und gut gepflegt.
Wir fanden die Sauberkeit auf dem gesamten Platz sehr gut.
Das Personal war durchweg freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Wir wurden gut informiert über die Angebote des Platzes.
Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war sehr gut.
Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt.

Local attractions

Dust the sand off your feet, pack a picnic and get prepped for days out of all sorts to zoos, amusement parks, museums and active pursuits around the rural and seaside setting of the Varde Municipality. And that skydiving? It's within a short drive, at municipality capital Varde. Take a bike ride on the family-friendly cycle paths of the Filsø nature area and its lake, where you can spot sea eagles, gull-billed terns and spoonbills from the purpose-built birdwatching hides and towers surrounding the water's edge. From the Petersholm Tower you might be able to catch a glimpse of grazing herds of the area's wild red deer too. To be sure of sightings of all sorts of species, visit Blåvand Zoo 20 minutes' drive away, set up to help ensure that kids can get close up to animals. Givskud Zoo, about an hour and 20 minutes by car, has hundreds of beasties such as lions, elephants and gorillas in a scenic and safari park setting. Legoland is just over an hour's drive away.
