- Coastal park under 200 metres from a sandy Bowen beach
- Snorkel direct from the beach: no boat trip required
- Seven acre park with award-winning gardens, pool and barbecue areas
You don't even need to set foot in a boat to investigate the colourful Queensland coral around Queens Beach Tourist Village in the Whitsunday Region – you can snorkel straight off one of the stunning beaches of Bowen a short and scenic stroll away.
Enough watery and land-based pursuits are close by to keep you cheerfully occupied around here for weeks: local town Bowen has eight beaches edging the bays on its peninsula setting, including Queens Beach under 200 metres from the resort. Bowen has outdoor gym kit, a seaside golf course, tennis courts, paddleboarding and a three-kilometre seaside walking trail, and a kids' waterpark as well as shaded barbecue areas at nearby Front Beach.
Queens Beach Tourist Village covers seven acres of award-winning gardens, spotless amenities and a good range of leisurely pursuits including a handsome pool and well-maintained covered barbecue areas. A modern guests' kitchen has plenty of room for cooking, settling down with a book, or surfing the web using the park's wifi.
Three amenities blocks and a launderette are also on site.

Local attractions
Stay around Bowen and its beaches and peninsula for loads to do, including exploring those coral reefs (and their shipwrecks), skydiving high above with an optional landing on Queens Beach, taking one of the several hiking and cycling trails, or heading up to the lookout tower on Flagstaff Hill. A stunning one-hour walk takes hikers from the Horseshoe Bay lookout (five kilometres from the site) round to Rose Bay and up to the famed rock of Mother Beddock for views across to Gloucester Island and Flagstaff Hill.
Playgrounds, a skate park, a cinema and a nine-hole seaside golf course are also in Bowen, along with squash courts, gyms and self-guided tours around the town's many murals. Four kilometres south of town on the Bruce Highway, the Bowen Visitor information Centre (aka the Big Mango centre) is also worth a visit – if only to snap a pic of the giant mango structure outside...
Moving on from this part of the Queensland coast, Townsville is within two and a half hours' drive.
