Shortlands Farm Campsite with sea views, only a short walk to the beach at Druidston Haven. (added by manager 06 Feb 2024)
All pitches have a sea view
Sunset over the sea at shortlands farm campsite.
Non-electric camping pitch for tents and small vans

  • Simple pitches on a 29-acre family farm overlooking St Brides Bay
  • A 10-minute drive to Newgale beach; 25 minutes to St Davids
  • Walk to dog-friendly Druidston Haven beach in 15 minutes
Even in a region as blessed with fabulous views as Pembrokeshire, Shortlands Farm stands out – the Ledwith family’s 29-acre farm looks out over St Brides Bay, and camping guests have sea views from every pitch on site. This splendid spot is just a few minutes’ walk from Druidston Haven beach, one of the quieter parts of the Pembrokeshire coastline with sandy stretches, rockpools and soaring cliffs to take in (and it welcomes dogs all year round – good news if you've got a hound that needs a holiday). The Pembrokeshire Coast Path passes by too, so you can take a stroll to other places like Broad Haven and Little Haven for more beaches and some seafront places to eat. The pitches are generously spaced around the edge of the field, so you’ll have plenty of space to spread out and set up your barbecue or firepit for an evening grill while you watch the sunset over the sea. Dogs are welcome to join in the fun, as are families – there’s lots of space set aside for kids (and adults…) to play in the field. For practicalities like supermarket shopping you may like to head into Haverfordwest (10 minutes’ drive), or you could walk to the local farm shop at Nolton Cross for foodie supplies (15 minutes).

Liked: Large, flat, well-grassed pitches. Clean, spacious facilities. Dog friendly and great walks directly from the site. Close to the coast path and a heavenly beach. Puffin bus stop 10 minutes away, going up to St David's and down to Marloes. I camped in my microcamper with awning.

Disliked: Not a dislike as such but I would prefer to have wash basins in cubicles. Nobody likes to conduct their personal hygiene functions in public, particularly in a mixed sex facility.

Liked: Lots of space between pitches. Facilities kept clean. Small site with stunning views.

Disliked: Would be nice to have a shop on site but the size of the site means that it would probably not cost effective (just me being lazy😁).

Liked: Perfect place to relax a few day with the family. Excellent service, clean and warm showers. Toilette cleaned every day and good services to wash dishes or make Ice.

Disliked: Not a big deal but the field is quite exposed to wind so just be prepared. In exchange you can get beautiful sunsets...

Liked: Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Shortlands on the electric pitch - Oyster Catcher. Wonderful views over the bay and the pitch was huge. Loved the way the grass had been left long around the outside of the pitch and the use of a fire pit. Only eight (I think) pitches in the whole field which meant you had loads of space. Good friendly communication before my stay which was appreciated. Facilities were basic (I didn’t want more) but clean and I never had to queue (although I did chose to shower in the evening). Bad weather first few days which are always a challenge when in a tent but when the sun shone it was glorious. By far the best campsite for pitch and views I’ve ever stayed at and I will definitely be back. Thankyou Shortlands for a great week.

Liked: Beautiful views of the bay, lots of space even when the field was fully booked, clean toilets, good showers, charging facilities, ice pack refreezing, friendly staff, under cover washing up station.

Disliked: Windy but that's to be expected on the side of a cliff and not the campsites fault that we camped in a storm.

Liked: The view and spacious pitch

Disliked: The facilities - not enough showers & toilets not cleaned enough throughout the day. And being unisex For the amount of money we paid £70 per night would have expected better facilities A very long walk with young children if you are camping in the top field No staff seen throughout our stay We had a pitch in the middle of the top field which was very exposed especially when the gale force winds hit!!

Local attractions

Pembrokeshire’s perhaps most well known for its stunning coastline (there’s a good reason why it’s home to the UK’s only national park dedicated entirely to coastal landscapes…) A good place for Shortlands Farm guests to start is Newgale beach (10 minutes’ drive) – it’s got great waves for surfers (plus kit hire and lessons) but it’s also a great place for a stroll or paddle. Stop by too at Broad Haven (10 minutes) and the pretty harbour at Solva (20 minutes) en route to St Davids (25 minutes). The UK’s smallest city has some lovely shops and cafés to visit between tours of the cathedral and Bishop’s Palace, and it’s also the launch point for boat trips to Ramsey Island to see sea birds and seals. If the kids need something different from scenery chasing, try Dr Beynon’s Bug Farm (25 minutes), thrill rides at Oakwood Theme Park (half an hour) or animal encounters at Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (35 minutes).
