Unpowered grass and earth tent or campervan site

Liked: Given that I’d managed to pick a week of appalling weather I really liked the lovely sheltered spot we were given! Pitches were roomy and flat, and the picnic table for each pitch was a really nice touch. The trees and plants around the campsite were very picturesque and we could see the sea through our woven willow hedge. The facilities were very clean, and housed in a barn so are sheltered from the elements but still with an outdoorsy feel. The hot water is solar powered but even in a non-sunny week there was enough for showers and washing up. The communal fridges were appreciated, as was the availability of recycling points and device charging points. The bigger shower room was lovely, and with a brilliant zebra themed shower curtain that always made me smile. Although you can’t park next to your pitch the parking is very close by so it doesn’t really matter.

Sunset yurt

Liked: We took our 6week old, having everything supplied allowed us more room in the car for pram etc. Woodburner was perfect for night feeds + nappy changes The private pitches was great with the dog to allow freedom to roam around the yurt

Unpowered grass and earth tent or campervan site

Liked: Great setting and very laid back vibe. Good re-cycling

Disliked: Lack of hot water. Told water was heated by solar so 'could' run out. Should have a Plan B for when it definitely does run out. Turning up in a camper van, hot water for shower was our only requirement!

Unpowered grass and earth tent or campervan site

Liked: Excellent location- a lovely walk to the sea and clifftop paths. There was always hot water in the shower and each pitch is assigned generous fridge space- touches which make longer stays (we stayed for a week) just that bit more comfortable. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Loved our stay here!

Liked: Beautiful site surrounded by sheltering willows and birdsong. We loved watching bats fly about in the evening. Tucked away location, spacious pitches, nice clean wash facilities and use of fridges... couldn't ask for more! We plan to come back.

Local attractions

If you’d prefer to take in Pembrokeshire at a more stately pace, pack a picnic and go horse trekking from Nolton stables (20 minutes) or join the Pembrokeshire Coast Path from the site, for clifftop walks both short and epic. Sometimes though, you just want to roll down a hill inside a massive transparent ball, and when that need arises, zorbing experts Downhill Revolution are also in Nolton, and waiting to give you a push. Also 20 minutes away, Martin’s Haven is the departure point for boat trips to and around the islands of Skomer and Skokholm, spotting grey seals and puffins, gannets and whales. Other options include a wander among the wallabies and a tiptoe through the tigers on walking safaris at Manor House Wildlife Park (40 minutes); a similar distance away, the trio of Oakwood Theme Park, Heatherton World of Activities and Folly Farm draw families in with a cracking combination of thrill rides, adventure sports, cute furry creatures and a funfair. If the weather's ever playing up, the Blue Lagoon Waterpark is also 40 minutes away, with slides and flumes, falls and wave machines, all at subtropical temperatures with a roof on top.
