  • Popular family-run farm park with excellent facilities and amenities
  • Animal walk, adventure play, bakery, grocery sales and off-licence
  • A mile and a half from St Davids and direct access to the coast path
Joey the pygmy goat is 'one of the naughtiest boys on the farm', say the owners of popular Lleithyr Farm Holiday Park on the Pembrokeshire coast. Well of course he is – just look at that mischievous, plotting, furry little face in the site pics… He's just one of the inhabitants at this scenic and family-run farm site's animal farm walk, where your little critters can make friends with miniature pigs, pygmy goats, Kunekune pigs and small ducks, as well as furry sorts at the rabbit enclosure. Also for kids is a timber adventure play area with balance beams, climbing wall, bridges, tunnel, high house and slide; for grownups, there's a well-stocked shop with bread, pastries and croissants from the in-store bakery, and milk, cheese and dairy products, fresh fruit and vegetables, branded groceries and local alternatives. An off-licence with a wide range of wines and beers is also available, alongside Calor and camping gas cylinders, camping equipment, body boards, wetsuits, windbreaks and beach goods. As well as all this, the site owners rightly point out there are heaps of reasons to visit this 180-acre farm: its quiet country lane location on the Pembrokeshire coast, for one, joining the Pembrokeshire Coast Path straight from the site via a quiet track, and with views from its flat site over the whole farm towards a volcanic ridge dropping steeply towards the Irish Sea. The farm is secluded enough for peace but easily accessible to the best of Pembrokeshire attractions, like the beach at Whitesands a mile and a half away. On top of that is the list of facilities: the team members here are proud of the site and want guests to have as relaxed a stay as possible and to return many times, so they've ensured all is up to date and well maintained, including modern toilet and shower blocks with two family/disabled toilet and shower units as well as free hairdryers.

Liked Absolutely loved the campsite
Loved the farm and the animals
Staff were so helpful and friendly
People were nice
Close to the beach
Plenty of room to park
Nice flat ground
Stunning views

Disliked Lots of flies in the bush where we camped but I guess that's nature as it wasnt dirty there. Maybe we won't camp on that side next trip.

Not sure what to expect from toilets but I think they could do with an upgrade, still not a problem.

Hand soap was watered down so will not clean hands efficiently.

Was there an option to buy WiFi beforehand because going to reception to but it with small kids could be a hassle. We used data but signal was not good (no fault of the campsite)

These are not complaints they are suggestions and I would absolutely stay again.

Liked Great location - 20 minutes walk to Whitesands Bay, 25 minute walk to town. The bus is a great option if you'd rather not walk.

The site was well-maintained and felt nice and spacious. Shop was well stocked, and staff we're lovely.

Disliked Only two toilets and two showers in the ladies’ facilities on the main campsite – which really isn’t enough for the number of people staying there. There is a second toilet and shower block in the other field, but it’s quite a walk from the far end of the main site. And honestly, it’s seen better days. Signs say it was damaged in last winter’s storms and ask for patience while it’s being repaired – but judging by its condition, I’d guess it hasn’t looked good in about a decade.

The 20p shower charge drove me mad. You get 4 minutes of water, which they say is about conserving energy and water – fair enough in theory, but in practice it doesn’t hold up. You can’t control the temperature, so on the hottest day of the year we were blasted with scalding hot water. A lukewarm option would have been far more comfortable and more efficient. My partner couldn’t stand under the water for long because it was just too hot.

Also, there’s no way to pause the water. I popped in another 20p for a few extra seconds to rinse off – but only needed 40 seconds, meaning the water continued to pour out for over 3 minutes while I was trying to dry off without getting soaked again. I wouldn’t mind the 20p charge if you could control the temperature and stop the flow when you’re done – but without those options, it feels like a waste.

Liked Fantastic site with amazing views. Really well kept, clean and quiet. Loved the animals and there is a nice little play park. Not too far to the beach and bus goes past regularly if needed.

Liked The campsite was well maintained, the facilities were spotless, good pitch sizes, excellent shop, our grandchildren would have liked the farm animals you could visit. Well deserving of it's good reviews. We arrived on a Sunday and stayed only one night, so never met any of the staff. Near both St. David's and Whitesands Beach.

Disliked Dogs not allowed on any part of Whitesands Beach in the summer.

Liked My first time solo camping with my dog, the owner was so lovely and made me feel safe knowing they were never too far away. Lovely shop, facilities were great and clean. Everyone was very friendly.
Not too far away from the beach, the first one I couldn't take my dog onto but only a short walk away, was a lovely beach that no one else was at, it was so peaceful!
Lots of great walks, not far from town. Perfect place for my first solo camp, will 100% be returning!

Liked Lovely big site. Loads of space so very peaceful. Right on the coast path with easy access to the beach at Mwnt. Good showers. Free WiFi at the tip of the site.

Disliked Maybe if it was busy there would be an issue with the number of loos, but not a major problem.

Liked The boys absolutely loved seeing the animals, bryn the goat was a favourite! The playground was lovely too, perfect for a place to let off steam whole we set up and toom down.

The camping field felt lovely and secluded, and the picnic bench was a wonderful bonus. The view of mynydd carnllidy was so wonderful especially in the morning at sunrise.

Facilities were lovely and clean and the shop was incredibly handy for buing supplies and food. We particularly enjoyed the lovely croissants for breakfast.

We'll certainly be back again, thank you for a lovely weekend break!

Disliked Nothing!

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Liked all of it. Exceptionally clean. Owners lovely and helpful. To be honest got fed up with the amount of times my other half said how nice the grass was lol
Nice shop on site with all the basics bread etc.. and gifts to take home or toys for the kids to play on site or small board games to play on site. All of which very reasonably priced. Lovely pastries on the counter in the morning. Walking round the animal enclosure part was a joy. White sands beach and supermarket in St Davids just a few minutes a way. Im not a walker at my age but it would be ideal

Disliked The Badgers . Be warned there are plenty of signs to tell you to be careful. And careful you must be. we even had one break into the camping fridge we left outside the car. Part of the experience so not really a dislike.
Lack of shade on a hot day so we went under the trees by reception. and ate Ice cream. The mango sorbet one was amazing

I would visit again without hesitation

Liked I liked the flat pitches with plenty of room. A clean and tidy toilet block with showers. Well stocked shop on site. Very peaceful. Lovely views towards Carn Llidi. Very convenient bus stop at the site entrance.

Disliked Nothing I disliked. But maybe in high season it might be a scramble for the male WC cubicles and showers. Only two of each!

Local attractions

As may have been mentioned, Lleithyr Farm Holiday Park is in excellent locale, in a peaceful Pembrokeshire location but easily accessible to top attractions: the team reckons that after a stay here, you'll def be back for more. The farm is the closest park to the beach at Whitesands, and links directly to walks including the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. From Whitesands, take the nine and a half mile hike to Caerfai Bay via Ramsey Sound and St Non's, or go 11 miles in the other direction to Trefin via St David's Head. If you'd rather climb, the peak of Carn Llidi in Whitesands Bay is within easy walking distance – you may as well have an easy amble before clambering puffingly upwards…
