  • Well-maintained simple pitches a mile from Pontypool and New Inn
  • A 25-minute drive to Abergavenny; 35 minutes to Symonds Yat
  • Half a mile from watersports and fishing at Llandegfedd Reservoir
Pick a spot at Partlands Pitch and you’ll be staying at a spacious, well-maintained site with rural Monmouthshire surroundings – but only a mile or so from Pontypool and New Inn (for a good cluster of shops, pubs, takeaways and places to eat). From this handy spot just at the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park it’s easy to get out and about to all sorts of days out: Abergavenny, Symonds Yat and Tintern Abbey are all within a 40-minute drive, as are places like Caerphilly Castle and the Big Pit National Coal Museum. You can get down to Cardiff with a similar drive too, if you fancy a city day out. The big attraction around here is much closer to home though: the site is half a mile from Llandegfedd Reservoir, an excellent place for a picnic, a bite in the café or a bit of activity. There’s a waymarked four-mile trail to stroll along, or you can book in for watersports including windsurfing, canoeing, paddleboarding and pedal boarding. Llandegfedd’s a well-known destination for anglers too: bring your rod along to fish for trout, eels and bream, or see if you can haul out a huge pike (the reservoir currently holds the record for the heaviest pike ever caught in the UK…) Back at base, pitches are part of a well-maintained site that’s got firepits to keep you warm and a sheltered recreational area with tables for meals in all weathers (plus washing-up sinks to clean your kit after dinner).
