  • Isle of Anglesey camping 10 minutes’ drive from Traeth Llanddwyn beach
  • Anglesey Sea Zoo and Pili Palas Nature World 10 minutes’ drive
  • Grass pitches with farmland views; basics shop five minutes’ drive
In rural surroundings on the Isle of Anglesey, 10 minutes’ drive from sandy Traeth Llanddwyn beach for days of family fun, Newborough Park Camping is a spacious pop-up site for tents and tourers. The camping fields all have views over farmland, and simple facilities on site stretch to toilets, but for everything else you’ll need to be self-sufficient. That means bringing torches with you for after-dark jaunts as there is no electricity available. Barbecues are permitted (bring your own), and you can pick up basic bits and bobs from the essentials shop in Newborough village (five minutes) or the bigger supermarket in Llangefni (15 minutes). If you’re not feeling the whole alfresco cooking vibe, there are cosy pubs and seafood diners in Trearddur Bay (half an hour). Active souls can join lots of walks and cycling routes direct from the camping meadows; long-distance hikers might like to yomp sections of the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path from Newborough Forest (five minutes’ drive).

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: Cheapest campsite I could find on Anglesey, very spacious, laid back and carefree environment, and close to a forest and beach.

Disliked: Minimal facilities (2 toilets) which can be hard to share when busy, loud people driving around and playing music throughout the night.

Unpowered grass caravan site

Liked: The surrounding area is beautiful and the price to stay here is excellent!
I did, however, get stuck in the sand in the entrance, which is apparently a regular occurrence, and had to be pulled out by the owner, who was very nice but still wasn’t particularly a nice experience, and entrance should be updated

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: Really nice area next to the forest ideal for walking

Disliked: Unfortunately cut out trip short after being woken up at 1:30am by two men arguing, who proceeded to fight each other on top of our tent crushing it. Both being early 20s females we did not feel safe at all, having them fighting on our tent threatening to kill eachother. We pitched out the way so we could have piece but this was not the case. There were no one on site to solve this, after a night of not sleeping worried we decided to go home a day early as did not feel safe being two young females
