  • Family-run site in a central location on the Isle of Anglesey
  • Five minutes' drive from Llangefni; beaches within 15 minutes
  • Secure play area and dog park on site; nature reserve next door
It’s hard to say which part of Anglesey is the best – it’s a very scenic place, and pretty much the entire island is worth visiting. If you’d like to take in as much as possible, it’s a sensible move to choose a central location like that of Bryn Hyfryd Campsite. This family-run site is surrounded by open countryside about five minutes’ drive from the central Anglesey village of Llangefni (a handy place to find shops, pubs, cafés, takeaways and the like). The Dingle nature reserve – with a lake, reservoir and wildlife to see – is just next to the site, and there’s access to footpaths and cycling trails nearby for local exploring. When you’re ready to head out to other parts of the island, you’ll have choices in every direction. Nothing’s too far away when you’re staying at this site – even the furthest points such as Cemaes Bay (west) and Penmon (east) are about half an hour’s drive away. That puts all sorts of outings within reach, whether you fancy finding a sandy beach, taking a walk along the coast path, visiting a castle or taking the kids to one of the island’s family attractions. Speaking of the kids, you’ll be able to keep them busy on site at the secure play area. Dogs are welcome on site as well, and have another secure, fenced area where they can run around and play freely. Other facilities on site include washing-up areas and clean showers and toilets.

Liked Peaceful, friendly site. Grass mown well. Our hard standing pitch was level but saw others levelling. Great location with path to the reservoir - great for the dog! Central location so not far to anywhere on Anglesey and the North Wales coast.

Disliked Toilet and washing up facilities were basic - but clean. No hot water in the washing up area. Sink and shower drainage was wet room style. Showers were a bit hot for me and the dog although others said they were OK. Saw dog poo in the children's play area.

Basic campsite, was clean. I think the site might struggle being full.

Liked Pitch sizes were a decent size. Toilets and showers were together which made it easier to shower when you have a dog.
Was in a quiet area with a short walk to the dam from the campsite.
For £30 a night with electric hook up not bad price.

Disliked No hot water to wash dishes.
The idea of a secure dog play area is good but it was towards the entrance of the campsite next to the main road and had a field gate with no mesh to stop smaller dogs from getting out so I never used it.

Not any Dislike about the campsite just a suggestion the sat nav doesn't take you to the campsite directly. The sign is labelled as lake View campsite.
Daytime was sometime loud due to the RAF planes flying around.

A very nice, welcoming site.

Powered grass tent site

Liked Clean and tidy site with good clean facilities
Site is not too large but clearly well looked-after and clearly signposted from main road.
Owners were visible and contactable in event of emergencies but made sure guests have what they need or answer any queries you have.
Large shower rooms and toilets - good power showers with hot water and plenty of drainage
Camping fields are well laid out and pitches not too close together and good stable electric hook-ups.
Hard standing pitches are also large and spacious with well maintained grass areas for awnings/tents.
Pitches are surrounded by well-manicured trees which don't overhang the pitches themselves but provide plenty of noise cancelling from main road which is set back from the site.
Onsite park for children is basic but good and our kids enjoyed it - was visible from the hard standing pitches.
Clearly marked path to nearby lake and village (would take around 45 - 60 mins to walk round-trip)
Wifi was fairly stable throughout the stay.

Disliked Park for children could be updated but wasn't a negative for us - possibly made larger with inclusion of a sports field/court.

We’ll be back👍

Liked Everything lovely Site Quiet and peaceful showers red hot .we had a dog with us and there is. A small area to walk them .

Disliked Only down side is there is only 3 showers and the toilets are in with them .I would say when it gets really busy especially on the tent side it could be a problem .Also there isn’t a lot of lightning around the shower area .But I think it may be a work in progress site Can’t comment on Kids are we didn’t have any with us .Only saw one person from site when we first arrived think that needs work .

Local attractions

As Anglesey is an island, it’s got a lot of coastline to explore – 130 miles, in fact, with a coast path running all the way along the edge for those that like long seaside walks. Along the coast, some of the top spots to seek out are Beaumaris Castle (25 minutes’ drive), South Stack Lighthouse (half an hour) and the gorgeous Ynys Llanddwyn (half an hour), an atmospheric tidal island dedicated to Wales’ patron saint of love. There are beaches galore, too – sandy Benllech (15 minutes) and Rhosneigr (20 minutes) are great for family days out, Trearddur Bay (20 minutes) is a top spot for watersports, and Porth Wen (25 minutes) has some intriguing industrial ruins to explore. Don’t neglect the inland areas though – Parys Mountain Copper Mine (15 minutes) is a particularly fine place for a walk, with trails running through the colourful landscape of a former copper mine. You might also like to see what’s on at Anglesey Showground (five minutes) – as well as major events, it hosts a car boot sale most Sundays.
