  • Small, secluded and rural Anglesey site with Snowdonia views
  • A 10-minute drive from the beaches at Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay
  • Family-friendly site near the A55; exercise area and bath for dogs
Set in 10 acres of farmland on the north-west side of the Isle of Anglesey, Cymunod has mightily peaceful surroundings. If you’d like to wake up to spectacular rural views and glimpses of Snowdonia peaks, this is just the spot for you. It’s also a smashing base for active families (and their canine chums) looking to get out onto the beach as soon as possible – sandy Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay beaches are both within 10 minutes’ drive, with lots of other options further afield, like Llanddwyn (20 minutes). For dogs, there is an enclosed area on site where they can exercise and use the dog bath. Should you ever tire of the beach (highly unlikely, really), the site sits beside a cycle route, and there are fantastic coastal walks all around the island with sea views and bracing fresh air. And if that doesn’t tire you all out, you can up the fitness regime in the on-site gym for an extra cost. This site may be in a quiet spot, but it’s also a very handy one. It’s easily accessible from the A55, which runs over the Britannia Bridge (15 minutes) from mainland Wales. You can stroll to Caergeiliog village shop (half an hour’s walk) for barbecue basics, with bigger amenities in Valley (five minutes’ drive) like a chip shop, convenience store and a launderette, should you feel the need for a spruce up. If cooking and shopping are not your idea of holiday fun, then you can find a whole host of pubs and restaurants within 10 minutes’ drive, and plenty more scattered across the island. On site, the facilities include a toilet and shower block. The site also hires out firepits and sells logs for the fire.

What customers say

Top marks for immaculately clean, spacious pitches & super friendly hosts. Great spot for beaches. Quiet vibes. Toilets/showers get a big thumbs up, though shower timing/cost and more bins were noted.

Liked First time staying here and it’s very peaceful, Sioned and her hubby are extremely welcoming and cannot do enough for you. Showers are amazing (£1 for 5 mins), but it’s enough (I used to£2 only because I’ve got really long hair), but I still had time left over. The site is very well kept, clean and the views are beautiful. We will deffo be back

Liked Lovely, quiet, clean and spacious pitches. Toilet/shower facilities are great too. Close to A55 and A5 to reach local tourist areas.
Play area for children with picnic benches and play area for dogs. Site has free wifi.

Disliked £1 charge for 5min shower useage - You easily lose a minute waiting for the shower to heat up. The owner is waiting for electrician to come to change this to 7 minutes

Powered grass and gravel caravan site

Liked Site was very quiet during the week. Site very clean. Washing up room very nice but washing machine not working all week.

Disliked Not the site for us as we are walkers and nothing around. Only one hook in the showers so had to put clothes on the bin. Not a fan of paying £1 for a shower and my partner run out when washing her hair after 5mins so cost £2 she wasn't happy runs cold after 5mins and you can't see the timer in the 3 shower area. Won't be returning

Local attractions

As well as swimming and sandcastle-building, many of the local beaches have fantastic amenities for watersports. At Rhosneigr (10 minutes’ drive), you can join windsurfers and kitesurfers shooting across the waves on windy days – gear hire and lessons are available too. For a thrilling adrenaline buzz, hop onto a RIB from underneath the Menai Bridge (20 minutes) for high-speed adventures scooting down the coastline. Kids can feed lambs at Foel Farm Park (30 minutes) or take mini-train rides at Gipsy Wood Park (35 minutes, just over the bridge), and with scary jellyfish at Anglesey Sea Zoo (30 minutes) and fluttery butterflies at Pili Palas Nature World (20 minutes), there's loads to amuse them if the weather turns against you. For some grown-up time, up the cultural ante with visits to the National Trust-owned Plas Newydd House and Gardens (20 minutes) to view a famous mural by artist Rex Whistler, or head to stately Beaumaris Castle (30 minutes) for tours of unfinished medieval ramparts.
