  • Cosy motorhome site with spectacular views of Cardigan Bay in Gwynedd
  • Five minutes’ walk to Llandanwg beach; five minutes’ drive to Harlech
  • Breakfast and bar available on site; golf club five minutes’ drive
Looking to reduce your golfing handicap? Morlyn Guesthouse is just five minutes’ drive from Royal St. David’s Golf Club, making it a clever spot for a golfing mini-break. Tucked away in the peaceful village of Llandanwg in Gwynedd, North Wales, this tiny site has a small number of hardstanding pitches for motorhomes. And there’s much more than golfing on offer here… Morlyn Guesthouse has spectacular views to the Rhinog mountains and out over Cardigan Bay. It’s dog-friendly and only five minutes’ walk to Llandanwg beach so your canine chums can have a good romp around – and most importantly, it’s right in Snowdonia National Park, so you’ve got easy access to all its attractions and hiking adventures. What about facilities on site? There are no electric hook-ups, but you do have access to an indoor loo, and cooked breakfasts can be ordered (for an extra charge) when you arrive. There’s a licensed bar in the guesthouse, and if you fancy exploring a bit further afield, Harlech (five minutes’ drive) has a whole raft of pubs, seafront restaurants and takeaways to keep you fed and watered.

Local attractions

You couldn’t be better placed for a beach holiday. Llandanwg beach (five minutes’ walk) is the spot to watch fantastic sunsets. The endless sandy expanse at Harlech (five minutes’ drive) offers long walks across dunes, and further south down the coast, you’ll find amusement arcades and donkey rides at Barmouth (20 minutes). You’re equally well placed for adventures in Snowdonia National Park; if you’re keen to admire the natural wonder of the region, chug up Mount Snowdon (35 minutes) by train or hire on boat to appreciate the peace that surrounds Llyn Tegid lake (50 minutes). The Slate Mine heritage is there to be explored. Mixing up outdoor activities with a bit of history, there are abandoned slate mines to explore at Llechwedd (35 minutes), while imposing Harlech Castle (five minutes’ drive) is open for tours, and the colourful Italianate architecture of seaside Portmeirion (20 minutes) offers life-size chess games and madcap sculptures.

From the manager: Dear Mr. All Wood, we are disappointed that you were not happy with your last minute booking with us. Every one is entitled to their views of course, so we refunded you half of the cost of your booking and you left straight away not giving us a chance. We are delighted that you chose to continue your stay with our neighbour and enjoyed all the beauty that Llandanwg and its award winning beach has to offer.

Stunning scenery, mountains and beach. Excellent, knowledgeable owners

Liked: Lovely warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Knowledgeable, friendly owners. Fantastic vegan breakfast brought out to our motorhome on request at a time to suit us. The location was the quietest place i think I've ever visited! Surrounded by beautiful scenery, mountains and sheep with a few minutes walk to a stunning beach which both we and our dogs loved. Incredible bright pink sunrise from behind the mountains in the morning which was breath taking. We really didn't want to leave and can't wait to visit again!
