  • Single adults-only luxury pod in a peaceful setting in Rhosesmor
  • Chester and the north Wales coast within a half-hour drive
  • Private deck and hot tub; two pubs within walking distance
Peace, privacy and pretty views are all part of the package at Moel Famau View, a secluded glamping pod in a fab Flintshire location 10 minutes’ walk from Rhosesmor. Pod? Yes indeed – there’s just the one smart pod here, so you’ll have the place to yourself and heaps of space in which to settle down to take in the stunning views of the Clwydian range. Top spot from which to do just that is surely the private hot tub, in its own secluded pergola that's often treated to some spectacular sunset views – although the two recliners look pretty fine for an evening tipple too. The setup inside is just as swish: the pod has its own ensuite bathroom, a mini kitchen (with toaster, kettle, microwave, heaps of kitchen kit and things like sauces and condiments) and a table for eating under cover (there’s another outside for alfresco drinks and meals on fine days). There's also an enclosed barbecue area outside (fuel is provided) with a picnic bench where you can take advantage of the fantastic views. It’s a good idea to pack your walking boots for a trip here: you may like to climb the hill to find an Iron Age hill fort and take in some amazing 360-degree views, or head out into the many acres of open moorland around the site. Alternatively, you might like to opt just for the stroll to one of the local pubs (one 10 minutes’ walk away, the other 15 minutes…) For jaunts further afield (perhaps to the coast, Snowdonia National Park or Chester), pick up the A55 a couple of miles away. Pony treks and horse riding can be sorted nearby if you’d rather hooves than wheels.

Camping pod (hot tub)

Liked: Really lovely stay at this gorgeous pod. The views are stunning, both day and night!! Lynn and Graham were very accommodating, great check in process including best places to eat how to order food etc. Lynn also gave us some info on the surrounding mountains and some local places to visit. They are there for any issues/help but just leave you to it despite living close by. The pod itself was spotless, very cosy and the bed is very comfortable. They even have a welcome hamper with goodies which went down a treat. We couldn’t use the coffee sachets as they were stale however wouldn’t mark down for this as it doesn’t need to be offered and is really just an added bonus. Fresh milk was waiting on us in the fridge also. The hot tub is just fantastic, the views whilst sitting back are just incredible. We really couldn’t fault this at all and we can’t wait to come back. See you soon.

Disliked: Nothing

Camping pod (hot tub)

Liked: The view was absolutely stunning to look out at, both during the day time & at night, we were lucky to actually see the stars too. Lynn & Graham came down to meet us when we arrived & again to see us off as we left, they are a friendly couple who gave us all the information we needed for our stay. Everything was clean & tidy when we arrived, & we had the cleaning essentials we needed for our stay, provided for us as it's self catering. The pod itself is all self contained with a wonderful hot tub which we took full advantage of.

Disliked: We found the mattress hard but that could be down to our preference.

Camping pod (hot tub)

Liked: The pod was stunning and had everything that we needed for a lovely 2 night stay. The hot tub was fantastic, with a gorgeous view. The whole area was clearly looked after and well maintained. The owners Lynn and Graham were really friendly and answered any questions that we had very quickly. They met us on arrival and made us feel very welcome. They also advised us on local places that were worth visiting which was helpful! Overall we had a great stay and didn't want to leave. We can’t wait to visit again!

Camping pod (hot tub)

Liked: We just arrived back from our lovely 2 night getaway at Moel Famau View. Which is located up hill within a quiet village, surrounded by spectacular views. We honestly could not fault it. Lynn and Graham were excellent hosts and very friendly, meeting us on arrival and answering any questions we had very quickly over Whatsapp. The pod itself was immaculate, well maintained, spacious and the view was just amazing. It had everything we needed and more with little extras included. The hot tub was an added bonus with being checked in the morning and having complete privacy. Would highly recommended and will definitely stay again.

Disliked: Nothing at all.

Camping pod (hot tub)

Liked: Lovely private and peaceful pod with amazing views and the weather was perfect to enjoy a relaxing weekend for my partners birthday. Has everything you need, including a BBQ, relaxer chairs and the hot tub was the 'icing on the cake' 😊

Disliked: Nothing really, but if I was nit picking a small corner shelf would've be handy above the bed by the window (for phone, etc). Also the fridge was very small but I suppose that's to be expected in a pod.

Local attractions

Those of you who have a sweet spot for sublime scenery will be treated well around here… the Halkyn mountain (45 minutes’ walk) doesn’t hold back with views of the Dee estuary and the Clwydian mountain range… then, there’s Moel Famau (20 minutes’ drive) in the Clwydians themselves. Make way for more mountains… of course, Snowdonia National Park (an hour) has a reputation for its mountains and adventurous activities from caving and gorge walking to orienteering and rock climbing, but Llandudno (45 minutes) is another place to cash in on some fairly hilly walks around the Great Orme - or tram rides if you want to give your feet a rest. Take in a little of the history as you explore this new place, The National Trust’s Bodnant Garden (45 minutes) is Grade I-listed and Denbigh Castle (half an hour) and Flint Castle (15 minutes) will let you in on some tales of old, while in Chester (25 minutes), there are the Roman walls - or the zoo and racecourse for other days out. Active types in your group? Perhaps finish off with a visit to Northop Golf Club (10 minutes) or a cycle above Abergele beach (25 minutes).
