Spacious site

  • Peaceful north Wales pitches in lush fields by the Conwy river
  • On the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park; Conwy 10 mins' drive
  • Mountain views by day and great stargazing by night
It’s all classic north Wales scenery around Conwy Valley Barn – this spacious site is made up of lush green fields next to a river and gorgeous mountain views as a backdrop. Take a pitch at this site 10 minutes' drive from Conwy and you'll be guests of the Bryan family, who have farmed here for three generations. Your neighbours on the farm are the Welsh Black cattle and mountain sheep that graze in the long meadows, which run down to the salt marshes on the banks of the Conwy river. It's a peaceful rural location indeed, with plenty of space to relax and soak up the fresh air and views. And it's also excellently located for all sorts of north Wales days out, including the castles of Conwy and Caernarfon, the seaside at Llandudno and the thrills of the various Zip World parks. And of course there are heaps of outdoor activities all around – you’ll be right on the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park for walks and mountain climbing, about half an hour's drive from the watersports of Anglesey and close to various bike rides including the Coed y Brenin mountain bike trails. You'll be able to get out on lots of great long walks nearby… or just take a short stroll to the nearest pub, a quarter of a mile away. This is a fairly simple site, but with all the essentials in place – there’s a fresh water tank, a waste water disposal unit and a toilet and shower trailer, with a large double sink outside. Keeping the facilities low-key means the site is nice and dark by night – fantastic for stargazing on a clear evening. The policy here is 'take a bag; take it home', so although there is a recycling point on site, all food and general waste can (and must) be easily taken away with you using the bin bags provided.

Unpowered grass caravan site

Liked Lovely open field, chose your own spot, very basic but good value for money, clean toilets and shower and sink area. Didn’t see owners apart from a wave when cutting grass. Lots of birds of pray spotted and loads of valleys aircraft’s flew over throughout one day which was cool, very good price.

Disliked Rules on pitchup state no coal bbqs or open fires, which is a love of mine when camping but this did not ruin the trip. Also was recycling bins for glass and plastic and nowhere to put cardboard or general waste, this wasn’t a big issue as took what we couldn’t recycle home, maybe somewhere for dog poo waste would be a suggestion. Watch out for the campsite as it kinda just springs up on you and could be easily missed in the dark.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Decent location, pretty close to Conwy. Pitches were level, picnic benches were available and the toilet/shower block was good. The owner was very nice, when we found her. Good price.

Disliked Easy to drive past and on a moderately busy road. When we arrived (well before 6, the surprisingly early check in deadline) we couldn't get in touch with the site manager despite calling landline, mobile and leaving a message, so just went in and set up. The attached backpackers hostel was pretty noisy the night that we stayed.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Lovely location with views of hillsides in the background. The site is adjacent to a main road but it’s not that busy! The grounds are completely enclosed by thick high bushes that give you privacy and safety.
Basic facilities to cover all of your needs.
The lady that owns the farm was very kind and helpful; offering advice on where you go for meals, walks, bike rides etc
If you like wildlife it seemed abundant at this location; many birds including birds of prey, hedgehogs, rabbits, sheep and cows around the area, if none of these, the friendly farmyard cats!
Lots to do in and around the area!

Liked 10 mins inland from Conwy on the road to Trefith

This amazing lady farmer solo runs her arable and livestock farm, a backpackers lodge and field for camping in the most gorgeous location with views of Carnedd Llewellyn - 2nd highest mountain in Wales.

Off grid in a peaceful mown and meadow field. Basic facilities but all that is needed. Perfect :)

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked This is a fantastic campsite. Quiet. Only a few other tents in the field on a bank holiday weekend. The lady owner is lovely and will explain everything you need to know. The views are stunning. The facilities are spot on. Toilets, a shower, and drinking water. We don't need anything else. We had a bbq / firepit off the ground so not to ruin the grass. It was so cheap for nowadays. £8pppn. Great value. Two pubs in walking distance although the closest one was closed temporarily. So we ate at Ye Old Bull Inn. About 1 Mile walk but up a small hill. Great food and very welcoming. 10 mins drive to Conwy which is quaint. I would definitely stay here again. Absolutely fab!!
