  • Simple pitches at a Mid Wales family farm with gorgeous views
  • A five-minute drive from Knighton and the edge of the Shropshire Hills
  • Close to walks including Offa's Dyke Path and Heart of Wales Trail
Gorgeous green views and a bunch of friendly farm animals to meet… such things are campsite wishlists frequently made of. And such are the things that are in strong supply at The Laws Pasture, part of a working family farm in the Mid Wales countryside. This site is in a particularly sweet spot within native meadows up on a hillside, with views stretching out over the Teme Valley all the way across to north Shropshire (the boundary of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is only a couple of miles away too). Donkeys, cows and sheep are resident on the farm; you’re welcome to bring a dog along to join the menagerie, but you’ll need to keep them on a lead so they don’t cause a nuisance to the farm animals. That location also means that there are plenty of footpaths and bridleways all around to explore when you fancy a bit of a walk or bike ride. As the farm is close to the Wales/England border, one of those paths you might like to stroll along (at least for a while) is the Offa’s Dyke Path. The Heart of Wales Trail passes close by too (as does the Heart of Wales train line, which stops in nearby Knighton for an easier way to see the scenery). It’s also a handy spot for amenities, as it’s a little over a mile to the market town of Knighton, which is packed with pubs, takeaways and shops where you can pick up supplies for picnics or barbecues (which are permitted back at base, as are campfires). Pitches here are simple and fuss-free, but you'll have access to portable toilets in the camping area.
