Liked: The location is fantastic - such a beautiful part of the world and good access to lots of cycling in the Elan Valley. The local town has everything you need for eating out or shopping for food. It was good to have everything there and set up for us - tent, beds, kitchen area all well stocked. The owners were friendly and accommodating and provided free fresh eggs as well!
Disliked: Some of the equipment was a little unreliable e.g. the BBQ didn't work fully, solar lights not coming on - I'm sure if we'd asked then things could have been fixed, but it didn't affect our stay.

Liked: What a great little find this was, we can't wait to come back. Bell tent set in private area with amazing views. Everything we needed for our weekend stay. The owners have done a great job putting this together and thought carefully about what is needed. Firewood provided for the first night, along with yummy cupcakes. Owners were aware that the break was to celebrate my husbands and daughters birthday, so decorated with birthday banners and decorations. This was a lovely touch!! Layout of area is great. With lots of seating for all your needs. Table for eating, chairs around the firepit and more seating under a canpony. Beds in bell tent were amazingly comfortable meaning we all had a good nights stay. Owners were friendly and helpful and wanted to ensure our stay was a success. Thank you
Disliked: There was nothing to dislike and we will definitely return. Would benefit from additonal facilities but I have no doubt this is part of the plan as the owners continue to devlop their site.

Liked: We had a wonderful time at the Woodhouse Farm! We received a friendly welcome and the hosts made us feel at home from the first moment! There were free eggs to take, we could use wood for the fireplace and our children were allowed to feed and stroke the pony. The tent we were staying in is spacious and nicely furnished, the small kitchen has everything you need. the terrace offers some privacy and a nice view. the washing up area and bathroom/shower are shared with the rest of the campsite but were very tidy and clean. anyone looking for peace and nature will certainly be happy in this little gem, we would come back in a heartbeat, thank you!

Liked: Beautiful place, We stayed in the Bell tent and absolutely loved it! We arrived earlier for our stay as we were worried the trip might take longer due to it being BH weekend but the owners let is check in earlier which was really nice of them. The owners were lovely and nothing was too much trouble, we even got a delicious cupcakes that we all enjoyed very much. Shower, toilet and washing facilities were well looked after and clean. We will definitely recommend this place!
Disliked: The only thing we dislike was nothing to do with the campsite as that was perfect. We walked to the nearest pub only to find out they aren't serving any food at the moment. The next day we went to Rhayader after our trip to Elen Valley to see if we could grab a lunch there but you either had to book in advanced or kitchen was closed, we checked 4-5 places. So next time we would probably make sure we have enough food with us or arrange eating outside before going.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your kind comments. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Sorry you experienced difficulty with finding somewhere to eat. Rhayader does seem to have a lack of places providing food between 3pm and 5pm unfortunately. Typically our local pub was renovating their kitchen and so kitchen was closed during your stay. You and your family were a pleasure to host and are welcome back any time.

Bell tent
Liked: We had an amazing break away here. Owners are lovely friendly couple who can't do enough to make your stay exactly how you want it. The area where the bell tent is is beautiful, clean and felt like a luxury stay with everything you would need for a peaceful off the grid experience. The bed was very comfortable, and the set up inside was idyllic. We ordered the breakfast basket which was exceptional and well worth every penny. The views are amazing both day and night. We took our dog with us and Norma and Justin greeted him and accommodated him perfectly. There was an enclosed space for him to run which he loved. We also had some wood from owners to use the firepit provided too. There are some animals on camp which was lovely to see around and children would love while they stayed. There are shower and washing up facilities and a waste disposal if needed. Everything was there for a stay if you were camping in a tent and would definitely take our own tent and stay there too. They are on the doorstep of some beautiful walks and is a walkers paradise. Can't thank them enough for the perfect weekend we had there and their hospitality.

Liked: Beautiful views, off grid, back to nature. Lovely owners that ensured our stay was as comfortable as possible. Horses in field which our child loved and was able to pet. Lovely off lead area for dog to run around. Quiet surround, back to nature. Very friendly and helpful people.
Disliked: Nothing we disliked but worth noting there is only one toilet for campers. Not a problem tho if not busy.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We're glad you had a comfortable stay. Additional toilets and showers are currently in the planning process so hopefully, as we get busier, this will be addressed. We hope to see you again in the future :-)
