  • Remote single-hut site among the spectacular mid Wales countryside
  • Clay pigeon shooting, pony trekking and nine-hole golf course nearby
  • Spring-fed woodfired hot tub with spectacular views down the valley
If you don't fancy sharing your facilities with other guests, then you're in luck: this smashing singular Hidden Hut in the Hills is set among 120 acres of farmland, with no shared facilities and all the space in the Welsh world to unwind in. There's no loud entertainment around here – just a peaceful countryside chorus of birds and other wildlife; as the site is surrounded by spectacular mid-Wales moorland, it's also a tiptop spot for wildlife spotting and birdwatching if you're naturely inclined: keep your peepers peeled for the shy red deer that occasionally comes to say hello. Next to its secluded mid Wales setting, the site's top feature has got to be its spring-fed woodburning hot tub – just a few steps outside your hut – with a glorious vista down the valley; the fact that you'll never need to share it with another soul is pretty brill too. Move inside and the hut itself is decked out rather fably, with smashing features such as a cute little country-style galley kitchen with an 'inside-outside' breakfast bar from which you can gaze aghast at the splendour of the valley and the surrounding moorland as you munch on your morning croissants. Resplendent remoteness doesn't have to mean giving up your mod cons either; for chilling out in cooler climes the hut is heated by an eco-friendly hand-built woodburning stove, and the windows are double glazed for extra cosiness; you've also got several USB charging points for all your digital devices, so you won't need to disconnect from the outside world if you really don't want to. With a 1,000-spring memory foam mattress, the bed is super comfy too; add to that some squishy tub chairs and a modern bathroom with hot showers and a flushing toilet and you'll feel instantly at home here. Should you ever want to leave your shepherd's hut haven – perhaps for picnic supplies or a pint – Hidden Hut is five miles from its nearest local shop and village pub in Carno, and heaps of shops and eateries await in the market town of Machynlleth.
