  • Peaceful, luxurious Mid Wales self-catering pods in Powys countryside
  • Golf course, Dyfnant Forest and Eryri National Park 20 minutes’ drive
  • Woodfired hot tubs and firepits in spacious, dog-friendly gardens
A small family-run Powys site 10 minutes’ drive from Llanfair Caereinion in stunning Mid Wales countryside, Banwy Glamping has a couple of self-contained and self-catering glamping pods on a peaceful five-acre site. At the bottom of the field is access to walks along the River Banwy, and one of the pods is named after the site’s small flock of Embden geese, which can be spotted in the upper farm fields. Each pod has a kingsize bed, a fully equipped kitchenette with a small oven, a combination fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster, as well as an ensuite bathroom containing a loo and hot shower. Exclusive-use woodfired hot tubs come as part of the package, and there is a wooden log box beside each tub – the site owners supply two bags of wood, a box of kindling, fire lighters and matches. Further logs and kindling are available to buy at the small on-site shop. The gardens have a firepit and barbecue grill (with all the tools you need), and a bag of charcoal is supplied – there’s more in the shop if you run out. An acre of private garden is yours to enjoy too. Dogs are welcome to join in all the glamping fun, and you can borrow books on local walks in the Meifod Valley, Welshpool and Newtown from the shop.

Dewi R. 1 review

Embden camping pod (two person, hot tub)

Liked The pod was beautiful and clean and set in a stunning location. Had everything you could possibly need for your stay. Excellent communication prior to our stay.

Disliked The two tub chairs not very comfortable, maybe a small 2 seater sofa would be better. Couldn't close front door properly from inside, you could see big gap at bottom, so had to go out of bathroom door and give front door a slight push at bottom.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We have noted your comments regarding the chairs.

Thank you for letting us know about the door. We sorry this caused you some inconvenience. We are dealing with this.

Embden camping pod (two person, hot tub)

Liked Literally everything, the place was clean and tidy. The location is beautiful and quiet, the wood fired hot tub is outstanding and checked daily. Nice little welcome prosecco and flowers too on arrival. Tea coffee and milk were also provided.

If you’d prefer to explore Powys from your seat in a railway carriage, the narrow-gauge Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway runs between Llanfair Caereinion (10 minutes) and Welshpool, passing over a viaduct and along the Banwy Valley. At National Trust - Powis Castle and Gardens (half an hour), you can stroll among yew hedges in the Edwardian Formal Garden and take a self-guided tour of the interior, with priceless jewelled swords and bronze statues of Hindu gods on display in the Clive Museum.
