Great riverside spot with stunning views, chill vibes & welcoming hosts. Honesty shop, river fun & roomy sites a hit! Showers clean but few, upgrades planned. Minor road noise & some noisy guests noted.

Liked Everything was brilliant, the owners were very friendly and helpful, couldn’t do enough for us made us feel very welcome and that’s not always the case when you arrive on a motorcycle, baby pigmy goats born on the day we arrived were ace, Taxi into Buith Wells brilliant butchers in the high street, nice pubs and cafes, forgot to mention the new outdoor showers on the site were fantastic, immaculately clean & hot, kitchenette was great with a kettle, fridge freezer, microwave and goodies to purchase if you need any supplies.
Disliked Nothing to dislike on the site, the walk to the pub over the fields is not going to be for everyone, you need a degree of fitness to climb over six farm gates some with wire attached, there are signs fixed to the gate posts to show the way, at one point you have to go through a farm yard with four barking snapping sheep dogs tethered to kennels , a bit daunting but got through without been eaten alive, the pub is great and the food is very nice, walk back on the road.

Liked *Access to lovely shallow calm part of river great for a dip, paddleboard. Adam offers use of his kayaks to guests
*self pitch you can choose out of 3 lovely fields where you would like to pitch yourself, lots of picnic benches and patio sets dotted around for you to use
*New outdoor shower block with perfect water temperature, showering under a clear blue sky with the sun shining felt amazing
*kitchen area to wash up, use kettle/mixrowave and power sockets available to use for a quick charge if camping with non electric, with a fridge/freezer and shelf fully stocked as an honesty shop
*scenery surrounded by beautiful mountains, trees, sheep and horses
*fire pit hire available with a decent pile of logs delivered by Adam each night
I have to say this is probably my favourite camp site I have visited and Adam was very friendly and accommodating to everybody
Regular guests recommended visiting in June for the music festival weekend and I will consider this
Disliked Unfortunately there was a group of around 8 drunk men who had complete lack of respect and awareness for the entire site, they were so loud with their music and shouting at eachother, fighting with eachother, using vile language knowing children and families were around this behaviour went on until 3am. I approached them and asked to stop and was greeted with abuse by one man who was an absolute embarrassment to himself and should be ashamed. They were the total opposite side of the camping field to me. I never understood why some camp sites refuse same sex booking before but I learned a big lesson this weekend, there was no attempt of an apology the next day. What was a lovely weekend was completely ruined by a group of pigs!! This behaviour can’t be controlled by the hosts but I definitely think a group of rowdy men arriving for a piss up should be closely monitored because this was completely unfair on the rest of the guests who had no choice but to lay wide awake and deal with it

From the manager: Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. We're delighted to hear how much you enjoyed the campsite, especially the riverside, the new shower facilities, the honesty shop, the fire pits and the beautiful surroundings. It was a pleasure to welcome you, and we're so pleased to hear this is your favourite campsite you've visited.
We're very sorry that your stay was affected by the behaviour of another group. We work hard to provide a peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere, so it's disappointing to hear that their actions impacted your weekend.
As soon as we became aware of the issue, the group was spoken to on several occasions, including again at around midnight, and they were reminded of our quiet hours and the standards of behaviour we expect from all guests. Unfortunately, despite our efforts, they chose not to respect those requests, and we sincerely apologise that this affected your stay.
Thankfully, incidents like this are extremely rare at our campsite, and the vast majority of our guests are respectful of both the site and each other. Although this group had stayed with us previously without any issues, their behaviour on this occasion was completely unacceptable. As a result, they have been permanently banned from returning to the campsite.
Thank you again for your kind words and your constructive feedback. We truly hope this unfortunate incident won't put you off visiting us again, and we'd love the opportunity to welcome you back for the peaceful stay you should have experienced.
