From the manager: Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay. We are glad you enjoyed the spacious pitches and our convenient location for walking into Coldstream.

Regarding the facilities, our toilets are thoroughly cleaned twice daily—once in the morning and once in the afternoon. We also provide cleaning products so guests can wipe down areas after use, along with signs kindly asking everyone to leave the facilities as they would expect to find them. Sadly, a lot of people don't follow these requests, which can lead to issues during busy periods when the site is at full capacity.

We appreciate your comments as we continually look for ways to improve our guest experience.

Easy walk into the village and good choice of pubs and food.
Quiet & well laid out site.

Disliked The amenities block was not very well maintained.

The toilet floors were dirty and wet, the showers similar.
Dead flies + spiders in the Pot Wash area.
On the morning of our departure the lighting circuit in the whole shower/toilet block was off.

Disliked Too few toilets. Showers awful with no temp control and 10 second push buttons not to mention lights failing with no natural light as backup so in pitch black. Badly sloping hard pitches with brick bumps.

Pitches: Our actual pitches are gravel hardstandings, with each pitch featuring an adjacent grass area designed specifically for awnings and outdoor setup.

Facilities & Lighting: We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the lighting issue in the amenities block. When it was reported, we called an electrician that same morning, and he was on park within 2 hours to resolve it. We will also inspect the shower push-buttons to ensure everything is functioning correctly.

We appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention, as it helps us continuously monitor and improve our guest experience.

East check in although we arrived late they left a key for us

Disliked DO NOT ORDER A FIRE PIT IF Your GOING TO BE LATE (after 5 ) and only stoping one night

We ordered one for £25 as well had a kid with us who wanted to toast marshmallows when we arrived there was not one there and the reception was closed

When I asked about it in the morning we were told we didn't get it cause £20 deposit had to be made I said there was no where to pay the deposit

They were quite funny with me but in the end gave us back half the money as were "late checking out"

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are glad you enjoyed the warm, clean pods and our easy late check-in process. However, we would like to clarify a few points regarding your stay:

Facilities & Cleanliness: Our toilet and shower blocks are thoroughly cleaned twice daily, and we provide cleaning supplies inside for guest use between scheduled cleans, though unfortunately, not all guests utilize them.

Firepit Hire: You booked via a third party and entered your own estimated arrival time of 4:00 PM. Had you arrived at this time, the firepit would have been set up and sorted for you. However, because you arrived late without informing us and reception was closed, we had no way of taking the required £20 deposit from you. Instructions for firepit deposits are detailed in our check-in information.

Check-Out & Refund: Standard checkout is strictly 10:00 AM, but your party did not check out until 11:15 AM. Because our housekeeper was delayed waiting to service the pod and a late checkout fee had not been paid, I spoke with you directly. To resolve things amicably, I issued a £15 refund—which was a 60% refund—as a fair compromise for the late departure.

We always aim to be transparent and accommodating with our guests, and we appreciate your feedback.

Good size pitches

Disliked Showers had no temperature controls and were piping hot.
Not enough space to get dried and dressed once you are out the shower.
Would benefit with wet floor showers rather than stand in base (like one in disabled toilet) to allow water to drain away better than shower curtain and floors soaked. Some campers mopped up after them, not all. This goes for male and female showers.
An additional toilet block would be handy especially when it’s busy season.

We appreciate your practical suggestions regarding the shower setup, temperature, and site capacity as we look at future improvements. Regarding the wet floors, we do leave cleaning and floor-mop equipment in the blocks for guests to use, but sadly, not everyone takes a moment to clean up after themselves.

Liked Very quiet camp site, local amenities and things to do. Beautiful surroundings. A huge field for children to play safely. We would definitely come back.

Disliked The toilets and shower blocks are not fit for purpose. There are 2 blocks (male and female) covered in flys and mosquitoes. Floors wet and muddy. In the same block 2 showers. No windows for air flow so incredibly hot and stuffy, couldn’t feel clean after showering as nowhere to stand thats dry to get changed. Then 2 family showers with toilet included, no bigger than the other showers again dirty floors. There are signs to say they get cleaned twice a day which I don’t doubt but I think they need to be cleaned every few hours. Partner also has ileostomy bag, and found it incredibly difficult to empty as needs to kneel down to empty down the toilet. Disabled toilet out of order all of our stay!

We are very sorry for the frustration caused by the facilities during your stay. As a small park, we don't have a team on-site to clean every few hours seven days a week, though we do supply cleaning products and floor equipment so guests can easily tidy up after themselves. Sadly, not everyone leaves the spaces as clean as they find them, which we know can be disappointing for others. Our team do clean the block twice daily, 7 days per week.

Regarding the ladies disabled toilet, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused, especially for your partner. It was out of order due to an unexpected blown light fitting. We called an electrician right away, but because it happened just as the weekend was starting, it naturally took a couple of days to get someone out to repair it.

We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back for a much better experience in the future.

Liked Campsite was amazing, the pitch up area and the near by town,

Disliked Toilets, male and females were terrible, hardly cleaned, female shower always flooded, burning hot water, the staff are super rude, they have zero respect for customers

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We are glad you enjoyed the campsite, the pitch area, and the local town.

However, we must strongly refute your comments regarding our staff. We pride ourselves on treating all guests with respect, but we also expect our staff to be treated with basic courtesy in return.

When you called you shouted aggressively at our team member when they simply could not hear you due to your phone signal which is entirely unacceptable. Furthermore, regarding your deposit: as clearly outlined in your arrival instructions, firepits must be returned to reception at checkout to receive your £20 deposit. We hire out over 15 firepits at any given time and cannot automatically recognise a guest who has one and who doesn't—hence the requirement to return it to reception. You neither returned the firepit nor mentioned having one when checking out, yet became angry that our team didn't automatically know you had one to refund.

Regarding our facilities, our team cleans the amenity block regularly throughout the day, and we even leave cleaning products available for guests to use outside of these times. Unfortunately, not all visitors treat the facilities with respect between our regular cleans, but we will inspect the female shower temperature and drainage to ensure everything is functioning properly.
