  • Clean, safe family park five minutes' drive from Kirkcudbright
  • Heated outdoor swimming pool
  • Spectacular views over Kirkcudbright Bay
If you're off seawards to the artists' town of Kirkcudbright in Dumfries and Galloway, wend your way to Seaward Holiday Park for some arty scenes. It's a small and exclusive park just outside Kirkcudbright, with rather special views over Kirkcudbright Bay to Ross Island and its lighthouse… you should surely be tempted to break out the easel. Seaward is family friendly, pet friendly and very friendly – you'll get a warm welcome here from the helpful team – and has a seasonal outdoor heated pool, an outdoor play area, TV and games room, small shop, wifi, a launderette and heated shower and toilet facilities.

What customers say

Awesome campsite, super clean, great views. Staff are a treat, toilets spotless, and the heated pool's a winner. Peaceful vibes, handy for beaches and Kirkcudbright. Toilets a bit far for some spots, Wi-Fi costs a few bob.

Liked Located right on Kirkcudbright bay. A few minutes walk down to the seashore. The site has excellent facilities. Lovely clean shower block with loads of hot water in the shower. We upgraded to a serviced pitch which more our stay even more pleasant.
We walked in to the town and had a few drinks in the Kirkcudbright Bay hotel. The locals were very friendly and welcoming.
Possibly the only downside is the bridge over the river Dee having a weight restriction which means vehicles over 3500kg and cars with caravans aren't allowed to use the bridge. This means a bit of a detour.
We cane for the dark skies, unfortunately the weather really let us down.
If were ever over this way again we will definitely book here again..

Disliked Detour due to the bridge. Nothing to do with the park though.

Liked Toilet and shower block is clean and tidy, views where great, nice and quiet.

Disliked A little bit isolated, nearest shop/town is about 3 miles away, on a country road, i guess that's why it's quiet, also being charged for an awning, this is not a dig at this park, being charged for something that can fit easily in the space/area that you have already paid for 🤷‍♂️

Local attractions

Bring the family's bikes if you can, as the famed 7stanes forest trails at Dalbeattie and Kirroughtree are only 30 minutes away from and the Sustrans Route 7 passes right outside the park entrance. (If you haven't brought bikes, hire them just outside the Dalbeattie trail or near the Kirroughtree Forest visitor centre.) By hike rather than bike, there's a wealth of walks around the coast, hills and forests of the area as well as an easy stroll to the sea, shingle cove and sandy beach of Dhoon Bay minutes from the caravan park. Golfers have loads to pick from too including the championship Brighouse Bay course a short drive away along the coast; horse riding, a wildlife conservation park and activity centres are in the region, and the tasty chocolate factory of the Cocobean Company is only 10 minutes' drive away. More gently, the harbour town of Kirkcudbright town has a good clutch of coffee shops and galleries in which to while away the day, as well as the Stewartry Museum with a good collection of works by local artists (there are quite a few). Also recommended is heading to the harbour to watch the fishing boats unload their catch – you might even come over all artistic yourself – and watch them, the yachts and the lifeboats leave Kirkcudbright Bay. Finally, take a stargazing look at spectacular Galloway Forest Park, the UK's first Dark Sky Park and one of only four designated in all of Europe.
