  • Seaside escape 10 minutes' drive from award-winning Coldingham Sands
  • Watersports paradise: try surfing, kayaking, diving and bodyboarding
  • An hour’s drive from Edinburgh
They say being by the ocean is good for your health… If that’s true, a stay at Coldingham Bay Leisure Park, a site on the Berwickshire coast of Scotland, might be even better than an apple a day. Coldingham Bay is a top spot for seaside getaways, less than 10 minutes’ drive from the award-winning Coldingham Sands. This is Scotland, so you may not get the beach weather you’re dreaming of, but if the climate isn’t cooperating, go for a stroll along the shore and take in the view of the North Sea and St Abbs from one of Berwickshire’s few sandy beaches nearby. You don’t have to stay on dry land to see the Berwickshire coast – Coldingham Bay is a haven for watersports, and you can take to the seas for surfing, diving, sea kayaking and bodyboarding, all of which are within easy reach of the site. Back on site, let the kids burn off energy at the playground, then fire up the barbecue for an evening feast – pick up the necessary supplies from the shop a few minutes’ walk away in Coldingham. If you fancy a break from cooking, there are plenty of restaurants in Eyemouth, 10 minutes’ drive from Coldingham Bay.

What customers say

Spacious sites and friendly staff are highlights, great for exploring. The restaurant/bar's a hit. However, the loos/showers are old and need a spruce up; cleanliness and hot water were issues for some. One guest found changing bookings tricky.

Liked Staff friendly

Disliked Shower block dirty, dated and not pleasant, no hot water in the morning. Pitch was not kept well and extremely small, plenty of pitches available but we was put on the smallest pitch next to the main road which seemed to be a race track. Booked with the understanding it had WIFI as per the advertisement but told on arrival no WIFI.

Liked Good size pitch with electric hookup with water and waste. Nice clean site with its own clubhouse - toilet block very tired though. Coldingham itself is a nice little village with a couple of pubs and nice walk to St Abbs

Disliked Toilet block small and tired

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for your feedback Graham! We're glad you enjoyed your good‑sized pitch with electric, water, and waste, and found the site nice and clean with a handy clubhouse. Coldingham is a lovely spot, so it's great you enjoyed the village and the walk to St Abbs. We appreciate your comments about the toilet block being small and tired — this will be passed on to the team.

Liked Liked the site but dissapointed on the pitch allocated.I had a nice hot shower.Toilets nice n clean.Would stay again if secluded pitch

Disliked On app showed pitches all individual surrounded by hedges. But our pitch was crammed next to other vans.Although a lot of these pitches were never occupied during our stay. Although quiet at night was very noisy early mornings.Due to dog walkers all congregating at the back of our van.Husband went for shower in morning and water was freezing.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for sharing your feedback Kathleen. We're glad you liked the site, enjoyed a nice hot shower, and found the facilities clean. We're sorry to hear the pitch you were given didn’t match what you expected from the app, and that early‑morning noise from dog walkers affected your stay. We also apologise for the freezing water in the morning — that’s not the experience we want for our guests. Your comments are really helpful and will be passed on to the team. We’d love to welcome you back, and a secluded pitch request can certainly be looked at for a future stay.

Local attractions

Ramblers, cyclists and adventurers of all types will be well served at Coldingham Bay Leisure Park. Start with a stroll along the woodland paths accessible straight from the site, then graduate to something a little more challenging: the Southern Upland Way starts a 20-minute drive away in Cockburnspath and the Berwickshire Coastal Path can be picked up at the nearby bay. In the land of 'the Scottish play’, it should come as no surprise that castles, historic buildings and ruins are in no short supply around here: explore the remains of Coldingham Priory 15 minutes’ walk away, or head to Preston Mill, Paxton House, Bamburgh Castle or Ford & Etal Estates, all within an hour of the site. Beer fans have come to the right place too – Belhaven Brewery, Scotland’s oldest working brewery, is half an hour’s drive away. Make the trip for tours of the 300 year old craft brewery, stories from the beers’ history and, of course, tastings in The Monks’ Retreat bar. If you’re seeking something a little more urban, Scotland’s capital is an hour away. Stroll along the Royal Mile from Holyrood to Edinburgh Castle, find Dean Village and Circus Lane in the New Town, play a round on Bruntsfield Links and climb Arthur’s Seat for views over the city. Edinburgh’s a paradise for foodies too, with everything from gastropubs to Michelin starred restaurants dotting the city.
