Unpowered grass and gravel caravan site

Liked: Liked the location and staff were very friendly. It was nice to stay in a place that had a nature themed look to it lots of farm fowl and rabbits plus friendly cat and dog.short walk to the village of Miltown malway where there is everything that you need .local shops plus pubs and restaurants. Spanish point only down the road a few Klm and lahinch is only about 8 Klm along the coast.

Disliked: Nothing really except maybe a bigger sign out front as it was hard to see from the road.

Liked: We enjoyed our stay in Miltown Malbay. The kids (9 &11) especially loved the animals. Very handy bathroom right across from our tent. Shame about the rain but location is perfect for exploring Clare’s gems. Loved that we were walking distance to some nice bars and restaurants

Unpowered grass and gravel caravan site

Liked: Windbreak hedge made the campsite well protected from the strong winds. The owner was very friendly. The ladies loo was very clean and well appointed, like a bathroom at home. However the shower was broken. The composting toilet drain didn’t smell which was a nice surprise.

Disliked: The facilities were a bit basic. The shower was not working. Other toilets and showers were old and scruffy.

Local attractions

This stretch of the Clare coast really does hit the ball out of the proverbial park. As it's the closest beach, you'll most likely want to kick things off at Spanish Point (five minutes' drive), a peaceful stretch of sand named after Armada ships that were shipwrecked nearby in 1588. There's also a beachfront golf club here (also five minutes), a nifty nine-holer with ace sea views. Onwards next to further-flung spots like White Strand beach (25 minutes), the Loop Head Peninsula (30 minutes) and the Cliffs of Moher (30 minutes), each and every one of which is full of natural loveliness. The latter spot is particularly impressive and one of the most visited locales in all of Ireland – with eight kilometres of dramatic coastal vistas, 20 species of nesting birds and UNESCO Global Geopark status, there's certainly a lot to reel fresh air-loving travellers in. There are a good few critters to be seen around site, but any tiddlers in your crew can be rewarded for/cajoled into behaving well with a trip to Willie Daly's Donkey Farm (20 minutes); Aillwee Caves (50 minutes) is also highly likely to capture kids' imaginations.
